No excuses anymore.

I have finished to redo all clips in RGB format. Making cuts from the cuts was time consuming. Especially because I made mistakes and therefore had to rip the same episodes several times.
I wonder where it leads. For my first AMV I made the clips once, for the second twice and for the third meanwhile three times. What will happen with the forth? o.O I hope I have enough experience 'til then that it won't happen.
Today I got the next upgrade part for my computer - additional 512 MB RAM. I hope I will ever take advantage of this, because what I have watched so far I never exceeded the 512 MB limit. But I think if I use more effects and the overlay tracks more RAM will be helpfull.

Today I made a HuffYUV export from what I edited so far to check if I have the same synchronisation problems with MovieDV like I had with MovieXone. The result from the export scared me. In WMP it was random noise, except the parts where I had made transitions. Neither mplayer nor VDM (which is worse) could open it. It must have to do with the fact that I used fast recompress in VDM to produce the clips and so they were in one of the YUV colorspaceses. So I spent the whole day to rip the DVD's again and to make the clips, this time with conversion to RGB. Fortunatly I had saved the job lists, so I saved a lot of time cause I hadn't to select the scenes again. But I encountered another problem: The clips are larger now. I'm very low at HD space, so I couldn't redo all clips. Still 3 ep's to go. I will solve this problem by cutting clips I haven't used in the project so far.
In my last entry I have a mistake: The upgrade from MoviePack 4.0 to 7.0 is 249€, 149€ is from 6.0.

Today I didn't edit much. Instead I created a new transition. The possibilities to do that in MovieDV are good. Of course, it's not perfect what I've created and needs some more tweaking. But for the first attempt it is very close to what I have in mind.
Despite I didn't edit that much, it showed me how to continue. First I will complete the storyline of the vid. Fill the storyboard with the clips, add transitions and do trimming. After all that is done I'll add the effects and fill the overlay tracks. The timing will become hard. The song is that homogenic that you don't see the beats in the waveform.
The big brother of MovieDV 4.0, MoviePack 4.0 is on the sale for 39€. Short before I ordered MovieDV, they had it on sale for 49€. I wanted originally to buy it, but I was too late, it was out. I think I will order it now. It offers much more possibilities, and one of the best is the upgrade to version 7.0 for only 149€, compared with the 999€ it costs new. But this project i'll complete with MovieDV.

Friday I ripped some additional clips. At the weekend I visited my friends, so no progress. During the week I haven't much time in the evenings, real progress I can only achiev at weekends. The next weekends I have probably time. So if I can convince that lazy bastard inside me, I can finish it this month. Today I found the time to make the first seconds of project "Secret". The first transitions I made seem to come out pretty well, exactly like I imagined them. I got a problem with the clip which follows the opening sequence. It's too long, or better said the beats where it had to fit are too short. I can't neither cut it more than I've already done nor speed it up because that wouldn't fit the music and the situation. Maybe I must handle it with the transition to the next clip.
I'm still upgrading my PC. Today I managed to get additional 512 MB RAM at ebay. But with a 250 GB harddisk I have no luck. There is always someone who is willing to pay more than me.
The op from the 500 hit celebration is finally up.

I knew it.

Yesterday I ripped the last 4 episodes and made the last clips I need for project "Secret" - I thought. Today I started editing - and I need more clips. But it is nothing that I could have avoided with making a storyboard. It's the missing experience with my programs. I put 2 clips in the timeline and added a very effectfull transition - and realized what more I can do with this transition if I have an additional clip. But the clip I need isn't amongst the clips I made. It wasn't that problem if I had enough HD-Space to keep already ripped episodes as long as I work on the project, because it's in one of them. But I haven't, and so I have to rip this episode again. As if it wasn't enough, my creativity returns - that's good - and gives me new ideas how to express things better. But of course, it needs more footage - that's bad.
Today I received the Noir OST 1+2 from CDPacific. In Germany only OST 1 is released, and it costs as much as the two CD's I got now. I'm so happy.
