I still have no idea what happened to my hard drive. Search for viruses, rootkits or other malware was without results. Partly the damage looks systematic, mainly files older than half a year are affected. But there are some exceptions. Some of the older files still work and some of the newer files don't work, including my project files. I found something strange but lucky. While the project file for my MEP segment doesn't work, the animation file is ok. In AIST products is the animation file the one that stores all the cuts and so on. The project file contains only the setting for the program, the inormations about the animations used in the project and the albums. So I was able to continue with it right there where I stopped before my vacation. Watching it with some distance showed me that there is still more work to do than I thought. Unfortunatly I don't have the same luck with project "Secret".
Since friday I have a flat rate for my internet account because my provider made an acceptable offer. That way I'm able to download the Queen Millenia episode in short time and to start projects with it.
At the weekend I was at a biker party organized by my friends. I had a lot of fun, distracting me from the bad things that happened to me, giving me some confidence. There is a weird story how someone found this party. He was searching Google for informations about witch burning. Witch means in German "Hexe", and the site of the friend that hosts the informations about the party has the domain "hexchen.de" (Hexchen is little witch, it's meant as nickname for his wife). Since he was a biker he decided to join our party. -

Yesterday I tried to finish my MEP track. I opened the project - it couldn't find the video footage. Tried to watch the file - it was screwed up. Made it again using VDM's job control. Now MP7 claimed the project file as invalid. Tried saved older versions - the same. Restarted Windows - it told me it found an error on the hard drive and asked me to correct it. I confirmed. It needed around half an hour. The result of the "repair" - the vast majority of the files on the HD is unreadable. Not only my MEP track is lost that way, but project "Secret" either. So I have to start both projects from the scratch. for the MEP I did enhance the deadlines because of this. I had safety copies of all project files - but unfortunatly all at this hard disk, and none of them is readable. Next time I'll do safety copies on a CD.
I'm in real financial trouble. My boss didn't pay me for a long time, and now my bank account is locked. One bill after the other isn't payd - rent for my flat, insurances, credit card and so on. I've sued my boss - but this will need time. I have applied for unemployment fee at the employment agency - but it'll need time either. So what should I live from? I hope my parents will help me.
That's really Murphy's law. All bad things happen together. -
Back from vacations

Yesterday in the evening I did return from my vacations. I was in France, including Paris. Paris has disappointed me, as town in generell and as Noir location.
Today I got really bad news. The company I'm working for has made a declaration of insolvency while I was at vacation. So I will probably have a lot of time for making AMV's next time. I hope I'll have the inspiration too.
I received the first beta for the Freddy Mercury MEP. Hadn't the time to watch it so far. It reminded me to finish mine.
As I checked today the star scores for my vids I was surprised that ep#25 got a remarkable rise. It's still the lowest scored, but now it's very close to the next one. - Postscriptum. 2006-07-20 15:42:57 I forgot something in my last post. Since a while I have the idea in my head to make an AMV with the Queen Millenia series. So I was looking for the DVD's. I've found one source, but the complet set was around 500 Euro, with custom that makes 600 Euro. A way too much. Meanwhile I found a torrent. The problem is: My internet account includes only 2 Gig free traffic. The torrents are 7 pieces à 1 gig, and if you are connected, then are more leeching than seeding, so you have more upload than download. That way It'll need probably need one year to get all episodes. Have to look for another way. The quality is acceptable, as least not as bad as the Queen Millenia movie bootleg.

It's damn hot. It makes me really lazy and uninspired. I did nothing for my MEP segment since the last post. So I have to finish it after my vacations.
Vacations. Tomorrow my friends will arrive. At saturday we start our tour. I made some preparations for a little BBQ. Prepared the meat, so called "Schwenkbraten", a local speciallity. It must be prepared at least 24 hours before the BBQ. Made some potato salad. Though it is a lot of work to cut all things in little pieces it is always fun. The reason is that there are only some basic ingredients - of course potatoes, pepper and salt and in my version oil and vinegar (some use mayonnaise instead), and with the other ingredient you can play, can become creative. The ones who follow one specific receipe miss that funny part. XD Perhaps this time I put too much pepper into it. It seems to be really hot. Like the weather.
Due to the vacations the journal will not be updated for at least 2 weeks, probably it will be more than 3 weeks.
