This weekend was supposed a really happy one, but it turned into the opposite. I wanted to go to a biker party to met my friends. After that I wanted to visit my parents. It was nice weather, sunny and warm, what's unusal for that meeting. So I was in the best mood you can imagine. But at the first tank stop I made a fatal mistake. I filled in diesel instead of gas. And I didn't notice it. I drove until the engine began to stutter. I was at the Autobahn, and as I reached the emergency lane, the engine went off. I called the automobile club, and they towed me to the next garage. But since the whole sytem was filled with diesel they weren't able to fix it the same evening. So I got a rental car and returned home. Saturday noon they had fixed it. As I wanted to to drive to the garage I scratched a little wall with the bumper of the rented car. Fucking painted bumpers! But that's not all. As I tried to pay the bill with my banking card, it said no! We tried to get cash from a banking automat - no success. I tired the American Express card- no success either. The garage said: "No money, no bike". So I had to return home with the rented car. But I knew there should be enough credit at my bank acount to pay the bill. So what happened? As I was in France I had drawn cash with my AMEX card because my bank account was locked. I was counting on the fact that AMEX bills are drawn one month later from your bank account. But that's not valid for money from a banking automat. That amount is taken immediatly, and so it failed. So they told me to transfer it, what I did. But despite telling me to transfer it they draw it from my account too. So the double amount went off my account. And if it isn't enough, the locked my card from getting money from and banking automat without telling me. I'm done with American express. Their service is too expensive to behave that way against the costumers.
An update regarding my job: I'm officially fired now.
Enough rambling. Update on my AMV's. I tweaked the timing of my Noir/QM crossover again, and it became again shorter that way. I'm still not sure if I should add effects or not. I tried to take a look at my MEP segment. The project was fine, but MP7 couldn't read the footage. The HuffYUV was not readable. So I had to make it again. Thanks VDM's job control it was no problem, only a matter of time. But I'm sure that I did it before. So it obviously screwed up again. I hope that happened before I installed the correct driver for my hard disk. Other than with my other projects I'm satisfied how it looks even after such a long time. I think that's a good sign. -

The last two weeks I didn't do anything regarding AMV's. With all the trouble with my job I wasn't in the mood to edit. But today I found the motivation to work on my Noir/Queen Millenia project. The synch and the flow is much better now. Therefore I had to sacrifice 15 seconds in length, so it's 1:12. Probably I have to shorten it a bit more, there is a point toward the end that is still a bit weird. I'm still not decided if I should add effects or not.
After that I tried something and it worked. I have no idea why I didn't try it before. I opened a safety copy of the animation file of project "Secret" and it worked! XD Don't get me wrong. The project files I had tried all, and none worked. And in my working directory I treid the animation file too and it didn't work either. I have now idea why I didn't try the safety copies. Or maybe I tried one or two and got one or two that didn't work and don't remember yet. I'm so happy. The latest safety copy works! It needs still much work, I'm not satisfied as it is. And I have to redo some of the clips because they're defective. But I have a good base to begin with. Though I'm not sure if I'll start another QM project first. In the moment I'm downloading the series, what works very slow. As long as I download I can't edit, because at the OS where MoviePack is installed is no internet installed and vice versa. -

I've noticed the date of my last journal entry - it's a while ago. Today I watched my Noir - Queen Millenia crossover, and I'm not satisfied. Probably I'll make it shorter, leaving some scenes out. And I think I must add some effects, otherwise it seems to look weird. So it'll need more time than I originally planned. In the moment I'm downloading the Queen Millenia episodes, so that I have the footage to make a full AMV, which I already have in my mind.
While checking the files at the HD which had that incident I found to my surprise that, despite being from 2005, nearly all the footage for project "Secret" is ok. The betas are either. So it'll be easier to reconstruct it. And I've noticed some points where to improve it to make the flow more fitting. Maybe I restart it soon. -
More good news.

Today my computer did scare me again. As you know, I have two installations of Win2K. I had made the HuffYUV at my standard installation. As I tried to open it under my video installation, it didn't work. Why is this good news? Because it helped me to find out what happened to my hard drive. After the last installation of my video OS I had forgotten to install the driver for my 200 Gig harddrive, and Win2k is only able to handle 137 Gig. After the installation of the driver I was able to open the file. But I have still now idea why it showed me 200 Gigs and worked for months without problem without that driver.
The beta version of my crossover project is finished so far - if I don't decide to apply effects to the vid. In the moment I'm not sure about this. I'll wait some days and decide later.
In the moment I'm indecided how to continue either. Restart project "Secret"? Making a full AMV out of my MEP track? Doing a second track? Starting a completly new project? Time will tell. In the moment I'm watching several anime. Maybe it gives some inspiration. -
Good news.

Today I finished the beta of my MEP track. In the moment I'm very happy how it turned out. My only concern is that it is possibly to dark. Yesterday happened things that scare me. I rendered the project and got partly noise in the audio and video. I have no idea why this happened. But at least I was able to render it without flaws. That I have finished the beta so far doesn't affect the deadlines anymore. It would be unfair to the other editors.
I did start a new project. This will probably be a very short one. Short in running time since I have only a couple of minutes of footage. And short in editing time since I want to keep it without any effects. It'll be an action AMV, just for fun. I do an crossover between my two most favourite anime. Footage from Queen Millenia to the OST of Noir.
