Kira Kira Body...
2001-10-21 04:42:22
You know, even at 3:30 in the morning I just can't get enough of Di Gi Charat. Anyway... why am I writing this? Ah what the hell, I'll just make something up, that's what everyone else does right?
There's nothing new to report on the video... I'm still waiting on my deliveries. Let's see, Amazon and Bestprices have already sent out the goods I ordered, that just leaves Animenation sitting on the Outlaw Star model. Damn it and that's what I wanted here the quickest! Damn Murphy and his freaken Law. You know, I built a gun specifically designed to kill Murphy, but the stupid thing jammed just when I had a clear shot.
Oh yeah, I did get around to updating my website. So you can see the progress on the now-obsolete OS model and my fire test. Prepare to be wowed... well... maybe not, just prepare to download a 300K mpg, that's all. Anyway, again the URL is http://alternatefutures.tripod.com. I'll probably wind up moving over to FeaturePrice when I release my AMV, just so I can host my own high quality version. That is, if Phade doesn't get his web hosting up first.
And now for my random new interest. I want to find some place around here where I can practice sword fighting. I know it sounds rather stupid, but I need something to get me some excercise. I know where I can get a good practice bokken, it's just finding a place to use it that's a problem. Of course, if I do find a place I'll just wind up getting my ass kicked every week... maybe it's for my own good... maybe I should look in the Yellow Pages... maybe I should ease up on my use of elipses... maybe I should get a life... nah...
Before I go, I will leave you with this question: If the world's my oyster, then where's the drawn butter? Good night.

Damn Cat...
2001-10-19 05:18:40
Jeeze, I'm trying to freaken sleep when my freaken cat decide that it REALLY wants me to open my bedroom door. Actually, scratch that, I WAS asleep. But no, the damn cat needed me to open the door. And why? So that it could walk away as soon as I did. One of these days...
So now it's past 4:00 AM and I decided I take the time to finish my site update. Unfortunately IMDB is down so I can't get the links I need, so it looks like that is delayed until the website comes back up. Also it's nice to know there's so much interest in my new project. My AMV site has been hit a whooping six times! Yippee! I mean, is it me? I've found sites that cover less, are never updated, look like crap, and get about five times as many hits as I do in the same timespan. I really wish I understood how Yahoo chooses which sites to list. It seems that you only have a shot if you are A) So huge that every site about your topic links to you or B) So small that no one would ever want to visit you. Ah... enough of that, onto other things...
pyro72, I accept your challange! The ACen AMV contest shall be turned into a battlefield and let the casualties be high! May the best video come out on top, and I'll see you from the winners circle :) Now I just need some footage...

I have proof that some people don't even bother to glance at the video description, otherwise they'd see my big WARNING sign in the begining telling them that the high quality version of MIMH is down. Fortunately no one is sending me error messages... of course, no one ever does that it seems... except for me.
Well, my piece of plastic has gotten some excercise today. I've just ordered that Outlaw Star figure from animenation, the first and third volumes of OS from Bestprices, and the CD for my AMV from Amazon... I wonder who will get here first? Once that all gets here the likelyhood of my next video being finished by ACen 2002 skyrockets.
Well, back to writing reviews for my website...

TYUIOP

Well, my modeling job is either going to get easier or harder, I just can't decide which. I seems that Bandai has just released an Outlaw Star figure set, which includes Gene, Melfina and an articulated Outlaw Star. So I'd have the perfect template for building my model. Now, the problem is that there IS a perfect template out there, before I could have been able to get by on an imperfect representation. The other problem is how much of my model will have to be rebuilt with this information, not to mention that I will now need to shell out more cash! Sigh... This is going to turn out to be a "big budget" amv isn't it? Let's see... $100 for the anime series... that's nothing new... $250 in new software... perhaps $700 for a second computer... and $24.95 plus shipping and handeling for a toy, not to mention what I could be charging if I was actually part of a special effects house. Well, at least no one can accuse me of pulling money out of the market.
I'll probably be updating my website again tomorrow (today). I've finished re-rendering the fire test, so a 3 second mpeg will be available, and I'll have an updated picture of my model. I finished the top cannon and the cockpit today. I'm pretty sure these two parts will be consistant with that model. Now I'm reluctant to continue building it though... Anyway, once I write up reviews for Tenamonya Voyagers and Project A-Ko battles it'll be up.

IT IS UP!
2001-10-17 02:48:29
Alright, I know that goes against my naming scheme, but it is necessary. The AMV production homepage is complete. Now you can see some of what I've been jabbering about. Unfortunately I accidentally deleted my fire test, so I'll have to re-render that to get it up there, but for now, you will understand just what the hell the hold up is. So, just go to my webpage: http://alternatefutures.tripod.com/ and follow the "AMV" link in the top navbar.
