JOURNAL: Anime_AJ (Eijie Ashiyama)

  • Here's Something New 2005-09-07 21:09:45 There's this new anime out, and I'm wondering if anyone else knows of it. Its called "DearS". I found it by chance one day when I was shopping at FYE. What caught my attention was the picture on the cover. It reminded me of Chobits. And having enjoyed that title I figured it would be good. I'm not one for buying brand-new anime, I usually stick to titles I know of or have seen, but I had this feeling about it after I read the synopse on the back. And let me tell you this show is something else. If you've seen Chobits and liked it, you'll love this! Its nothing but humor and cuteness. I would have to say its more for guys than girls. There's a bit of nudity and sexuality. It starts out with an alien spacecraft that crashlanded on Earth, and of all places, in Japan's Tokyo Bay. It takes place one year after the crash, when the aliens have been granted Japanese citizenship and learned themselves of Earth culture. The storyline starts out very complicated, though in the manga its much easier to follow. Its about a 17-year-old high school student named Takeya who crosses paths with one of the famous DearS. He finds her wrapped only in a blanket... and starving. After taking her home and naming her, this beautiful alien girl submits to him in loyal servitude, claiming that he is her Master and she is his Slave. The hilarity ensues soon after and its almost non-stop. I highly recommend this show, and the manga, to any and all anime fans. Its cute, sexy, and extremely funny! Look for "DearS"; beloved friends from outer space.
  • The Mighty Midwest: I Ain't Afraid of No Coast! 2005-09-02 00:33:10 I have returned once again my fellow anime junkies with more news and updates on the insanity that is me! Well, let's get down to it shall we? The good news is that the movers will be bringing my stuff to my current residence on the 9th this month. Ain't it grand? As soon I plug my desktop in I'll upload my newest AMV, "For Heartbroken Eyes Only" and then I'll finish my latest production, "Don't Turn Away". If everyone liked my last FLCL vid as much I hope they did then I'm sure this newest one will be just as satisfying.

Well, since I've been back home I haven't had much to do. Being unemployed is a tad boring but at least my creative juices are still flowing. Since I left Guam I have come up with a lot of ideas for new amv projects that I'm hoping to undertake as soon as my computer gets here. Some amvs that I said I was planning to do are probably going to get put on hold. I've got a lot of work on my hands if I'm going to get any of the amvs I wanna make done.

I've been watching new anime lately, and have bought new music cds too. By the end of the month, though, I'll be moving again. I'm heading north to Iowa. There I will once again have broadband internet. So believe me when I say for all my AMV.org bretheren to expect to see quite a few new original works with my next batch as soon as I'm done with my second FLCL vid. I'm so excited just thinking about making my new amvs!
  • Living in America: Just Wait And See 2005-08-09 21:49:28 Friends, Otaku, and Fellow AMV enthusiasts! Okay, this is entry is primarily to recap, reiterate, and correct some things. But before I go there I would like to once again advertise my website: www.AnimeAJ.com

BTW, I have not made any updates to the site, including the bulletin on the main page and the video list my amv page. Series and Movies are all up, nothing new yet, and there are still lots of changes that need to be done with them. No pics yet, that's gonna be a month's worth of coding and uploading for sure.

As for my last two posts, after making a list of my upcoming amv projects/ideas, I noticed that I had counted them wrong. I have, in fact, eight projects waiting to be fulfilled. I plan to make four or five before this year's end. Spending much of my time creating these amvs will also hinder my updates on my site, but that won't slow me down! I'm gonna push through it all. And hopefully, my wishful thinking and hard work will bear fruit. Just wait and see.
  • Living in America: Part Deux 2005-08-06 18:20:44 Normally, I wouldn't make a journal entry on the same day, but I forgot something! I also came up with a GoldenBoy AMV! You know what Goldenboy is, right? I sure hope so, but if not then you'll find out when I release the vid. So make that a total of 7 (yes, SEVEN) AMV ideas/projects ready and waiting to be seen!

(If I can ever get around to actually making them. Sure hope my computer gets here soon...)
  • Living in America 2005-08-06 18:12:57 Konnichi wa!

It is I, Anime_AJ, and I have returned to the good old U.S. of A! A lot of things have changed since I left my home in Oklahoma 2 years ago, but its still recognizable. Before I go and give everyone the news on my production statis I would like to give a fond farewell to the U.S. Pacific Island Territory of Guam. "May I Visit Again, Someday..."

    And so, here's the low-down on what's goin'-around:
Nothing New. That's it. That's right. Notta! Zip. Zero. Zilch!
Okay, okay. I'll admit that I have another project added to the list I gave in my last entry since I posted it, but my desktop hasn't gotten here yet so I basically still can't do squat about making any new amvs. What a total drag. Life feels so empty without my amvs. And the days feel so long when I'm not doing any editing or dvd-ripping. Well, the new vid idea that you can expect with the earlier list is a sequel to my first Fatal Fury AMV.

So that means I have 6 (that's what I said, S-I-X) amv projects on the way. And now that I finally got the last two volumes of Tsukihime on DVD I'll be able to make my "Blu Mondei" sequel amv. Oh, wait, ya know what? I also just got the first 100 episodes of Naruto on DVD as well. Ya know what that means don't ya? You guessed it! Be sure to expect a Naruto AMV (or 2) during or after the production of my 6 current amv projects. I'll keep ya'll posted with further developments.
