JOURNAL: Anime_AJ (Eijie Ashiyama)

  • Too Much Isn't a Good Thing [Sometimes] 2006-09-29 13:43:39 Well, I finally figured out and corrected the problem with the quality of my video. Seems I had more than one codec installed on my system. Thinking it was something else I uninstalled AMVapp and that got rid of Xvid, which was the problem. Once I had cleared that up I reinstalled AMVapp, without Xvid and FFdshow (which shuts WMM down when I start it) and proceeded to work on my latest amv Wednesday night. Yesterday I spent much of the day, since I didn't have work and only two classes, editing and adding scenes for the video.

It should be up today. So check out "A Home of Our Own", an Onegai Twins! amv put to Linkin Park's 'Somewhere I Belong'.
  • Problem Solved! 2006-08-20 01:58:44 The codec I was using was the latest DivX codec, I've installed the previous version of this codec and so now the video is working much better as I work with it in Windows Movie Maker. Though the ability to make the video quality better when re-encoding is gone, it still looks good and better than dvd footage I encoded and used before my hard drive crashed.
  • Trouble Making AMVs... 2006-08-19 21:27:59 Well, folks, here's the thing: after my hard drive's not-too-long-ago crash and the subsequent reinstallation of the OS I had to do to save my computer I no longer have Dr. DivX and have had to resort to using a free trial version. But even then I wasn't able to get all my dvd footage re-encoded to use with WMM. So I tried the new version of Dr. DivX 2.0 OSS but it only encodes into .divx which is a format that's unsupported by WMM (and I enjoy using WMM). So I've tried using a couple DVD-to-AVI programs. One has been successful, even made my ripped dvd footage look better than the footage I had before the crash. Unfortunately the process of making AMVs has slowed because my codec is messing up. It'll take a little longer to finish my latest amv but I promise that I intend to get it done shortly.

Other than that please check out my website and the new subdomain dedicated to my amvs.
  • End of August 2006-08-15 15:22:10 Well, there's been a lot of things going on in my life since my hard drive crashed and I had it backed up. I've enrolled into college now and so life for me will be more complicated. School will become my top priority, so I'll end up working part-time which means my income will go down. And then my time working on vids may be reduced. I do intend to finish my latest amv production as soon as I get the dvd footage re-ripped onto my computer, I hope to premiere the vid by the end of the month before I start college. Also, "animeAJ.com" is undergoing some new changes. I've given my amvs there own subdomain to house and maintain all my amvs... and maybe amvs by other creators in the future. Who knows...

I also decided to create a subdomain specifically for my literary works (i.e. short stories, fanfics, and maybe poetry). This new addition to "animeAJ.com" will take a little while longer to create and add to my website line-up. So, as you can see, "animeAJ productions" is gradually expanding and I'm thinking of offering amv and literary hosting at my site. Not yet sure, but its an idea I've been considering since early this year when I created "animeAJ productions".

Well, other than all of that, keep an eye out for my next amv: "A Home of Our Own".
  • I Have Returned! 2006-07-28 00:55:03 Well, my patience has paid off. Literally. I finally got my last check from my old game store job and I used half of it to pay for technical labor service to have my desktop's HDD backed up and to pay for Norton Internet Security Suite package today. After that I reinstalled the OS for my computer and reinstalled some software and drivers and then copied and pasted the backup dvds to my restored system. So now my next amv will be out soon. I'll be starting on it (again) tomorrow!
