JOURNAL: Aneino_Kaijin (Jess Loder)

  • New year, new outlook 2007-01-02 13:59:04 I've never been much of a New Year's Resolutions type person, so I decided to try something new this year and make resolutions about two things I already like - writing and AMVs. I know, I know, resolutions should be about improving myself as a person, but I figure if I can be better at my hobbies I'll be less likely to throw things when I'm working on videos or stories, and that's making me a better person right? At least to my sister, who shares the apartment with me.

So for AMVs, I'm resolving to take a step back and try to go slower, making sure what I'm putting out is REALLY good quality. Not just videos I like and look okay but which I won't look back at two or three years from now and groan in pain at all the little things I missed. I'm going to try to experiment more and poke around with new things a bit more. And I'm going to try to create something I'd be pleased to enter in a convention's AMV contest.

I also resolve to leave a quick comment with EVERY video I download. Because it's so easy that, really, it's just sheer laziness that I don't already.
  • Hooray 2006-06-16 11:33:35 Finally uploaded another video that I actually like. This one, an X/TV video, actually looks semi how I wanted, which is unusual among the videos I make. They all look so great in my head...

Am working on Dir En Grey MEP segment now, then perhaps on to my Kino's Journey video depending on how I feel when this is done. I haven't done an MEP since Animix, so this is a fun time for me. :)
  • Grrr 2004-05-17 16:16:30 Don't you hate it when you have to reformat your computer and then you have to re-install EVERYTHING just when you got it all working just the way you wanted?

    Yeah, me too
  • woohoo 2002-08-06 15:41:52 First journal entry from the mooch of the boards, Aneino.

As such, time for an update on my projects. ;-)

Anyone ever notice that no matter how many scenes they see that they can use for a vid, when you're cutting the footage down and it's flying by at 2x or 3x, you always miss some? Shoom, there it goes. They seema lot longer in normal speed...

That's the problem I had for my "mysterious ways" video. Where do they get off making 26 eps anyhow. ;-)

Still, the new version is in the final stages of completion, and so far its had two good reviews, one of which was very stern in telling me that WMV is not the wave of the future. Needless to say, I was shocked.

Still, it's amazing what common footage can do. I know some of the clips I used ebfore were better quality than the ones I've been able to rip, but the fact that they're all the same just smooths it over very nicely *flit*

Look for the new version of "Undercurrents" at the end of next week. I'll be hounding the opinion exchange boards with it. ;-)
