  • ... 2002-06-23 18:14:28 DRAMA?! good lord, I would have to see the anime to actuall notice any drama, but you're right, to each his own. ANd I did make it perfectly clear by saying *I THINK/I FEEL* Many times. Again, i'm not blaming AD since he didn't know how to categorize his video, so that ones on the judges.

    I never once said that my opinion is end all be all. I may have come off like that the first time, but it's really how I feel. I think I forgot to make it clear that it's only my opinion the first journal entry......either way, i'm done wit this topic.

    I'll leave it with this.

    Shameless Rock Video- FUCKING AWESOME video, not action in my opinion.

    Full Mental Panic- Great anime introduction, certainly got me interested in teh anime, really good editing, not comedy in my opinion.

    Akuma's Lain video- Not horror in my opinion, no original editing style, bad video quality. Good video if, but in my book, it's not horror. 
  • ... 2002-06-23 17:42:49 Adiamante, no i'm not going to take it easy. If I sound like a prick, then so be it. This is who I am and i'm not toning it down for anyone. Maybe I should have kept it to myself because if I comment on videos that were entered in a contest and I was part of it, i'm called a sore loser. To be brutally honest, my horror entry was too happy to be horror, but I knew It wasn't going to win, same with my Spit video, bad editing.

    I'm not jealous either, if you didn't notice I commented on a "comedy" entry, and I didn't even enter a comedy video. I'm not trying to diss any vids because all of them were great, I just feel they were in the wrong category. That is all.  
  • ... 2002-06-23 16:40:22 I got an honorable mention for the action category....I guess that's pretty cool. I'm not a very competitve person so it's all good. Atleast I got that.

    I'm not releasing my mindwarp though. I just don't like the video. THe only reason I entered it into the contest was because I made it for htat contest and since I finished in time, I might as well enter it. I knew it wasn't going ot win anything, but atleast I put up a fight! ^_^

    I was also very disapointed in Akuma's video for horror...it just...wasn't good. The editing was nicely done, but overall a rip off of Machine's video. I'm not a big fan of ripping off styles from other creators. That and the video wasn't really that much "horror" It's like a real bad hollywood cliche teen slasher type of video. I just didn't tickle my pickle. I want to see the video that got the honorable mention, see if that's any better.

    Also, Petro Productions Full Mental Panic is not even comedy. Nice video, but no comedy. I'm really disapointed in some of the categories for this MindWarp contest, firstly the action video wasn't action (but I still love AD's video!) Full Mental Panic is not comedy, nice editing, really cool trailer feeling to it, but not comedy, and the horror video wasn't horror.

    Now i'm not saying any of this becuase I didn't win anything, far from it. Technically ther'es nothing wrong with any of the videos (except for Akuma's, lotsa bad interlacing....or maybe it wasn't...who knows)
    All those videos have really impressive editing, especially AD's, but wrong category in my opinion.

    I'm still going to try and finish the new video by sunday, but making hte deadline was my one and only inspiration.
