- Remember... 2005-09-11 08:32:10 Captain's log, stardate 2005.254: 4 years ago, on stardate 2001.254, terrorists hijacked 4 airliners and crashed 3 of them into American icons: 1 plane for each tower of the World Trade Center, a symbol of America's economy, and 1 plane into the Pentagon, headquarters of America's military and a symbol of our defense. The 4th plane, with a target of either the White House or the Capitol buiding, was forced down in Shanksville, Pennsylvania by the passengers, who sacrificed themselves so that others would live.
- 2005-09-08 23:14:12 Captain's log, stardate 2005.251: I just finished watching a 2 part documentary on 9/11. About 50% of what I saw I already knew, but the other 50% was an eye-opener. For example, did you know that the basic plot that became 9/11 grew out of a casual conversation between two boyhood friends, one of whom was involved in the 1993 Trade Center bombing. Or that KSM, the mastermind behind 9/11 (I am NOT going to try to spell that name) got started on the road to planning 9/11 when his shoes were stolen during prayers at a college in North Carolina in 1983? It's fascinating, really.
- EVA 2005-08-31 19:55:16 Captain's log, supplemental: I think I've decided on an "inserttation point" for the EVA crossover stories I'm going to do. The Angel attack in episode 12 should serve my purposes. I say stories because there will be 2: one for Star Trek: Galaxy and one for Star Trek: The New Voyages. The basic plot (and subplots) will be the same, but each story will have its own unique features.
- I need a car & a job to pay for it 2005-08-31 18:21:13 Captain's log, stardate 2005.243: I need a car to call my own. That's not a new realization for me, but lately that, and a few other things, have become more and more evident. The car I want is a Dodge Charger R/T with the Road /Track Performance Group, the Electronics Convienence Group, Sound Group II, the Rear Seat Video System, and the UConnect Hands-Free Communication, in Bright Silver Metallic. Total price, including destination: $34,270. The only problem is I don't have a job to pay for insurance; insurance which, I might add, would be through the roof because I'm 18, and the car has 350 horsepower. My parents would probably help out, but even if the thing was listed under my dad's name on the policy, I'd most likely have to help pay for the coverage, and I'd probably be on my own for gas.
- Katrina's aftermath from my eyes 2005-08-30 20:15:16 Captain's log, stardate 2005.242: Watching coverage of the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina on the Fox News Channel, I thank the heavens that we don't live down there. That's not to say I don't feel for the people affected by the storm. The aerials of Biloxi, Mississippi, for some strange, and frankly, eerie reason, remind me of the pictures I saw in history class of Hiroshima after the A-bomb was dropped. If the oil companies have ANY sense of compassion, they'll lower oil prices near the affected areas.
