One last day...
2003-07-06 18:14:26
That's right, summer school starts tomorrow. Talk about joy. -_-
I've been getting two different responses from people whenever I tell them what I'm doing for the summer. One is that I'm crazy and that it's going to be major hard. Ya, I get this one the most often.
The other is that it shouldn't actually be that bad. They say that they know people you've gone to summer school and that it wasn't too hard. Not only that, but it's kind of laid back, so you learn easier and there's no pressure. I like this second one a bit better. ^_^
On another topic, I miss my hair. Ya, I got a hair cut yesterday. It's pretty short now. I was the one who wanted to get it, but now when I look at myself, and I look older, birghter and more confident. Aren't those things you want people too see you as, you ask? I don't, unfortunetely. I'd rather be my own age first of all. I'm in no such hurry to grow up. lol, I don't mind looking brighter. But I hate looking confident. Because in other words, it's like putting on a mask. I don't like hiding who I am.
You know what's one thing I've found they've never really portrayed well in anime? The likelyness of the length of most male characters hair. Ever notice it's almost always to either the top of the eye, or bottom of the eye? I don't know about you, but when my hair gets to the bottom of my eyes, it's not only hard to see, but my hair kind of curls inwards, bothering my eyes. It's quite a pain. But my friends say I look like an anime character with my hair that long. :: sigh :: the price of fame... lol

A full day means a full night's rest...
2003-07-04 23:51:27
My head hurts quite a bit, so I'll keep this short.
I biked to the mall this morning. It's about a 30 min bike ride, and this was at 10:00am, so it wasn't too hot... yet. I browsed around for a bit, then biked to some stores outside the mall. I bought the Animatrix, then the Cowboy Bebop movie. I came back to the mall so I could buy Read or Die, then I bought Blood: The Last Vampire. On my way home, I bought a McFlurry from McDonalds. I saw a friend working there. Not much time to talk, so I said hi to her and I headed home. This has been about 4-5 hours of my day.
Got home, and I definitely needed to cool off. I watched the Cowboy Bebop movie, then a bit of the Animatrix. I was called up by some friends to hang out, and we ended up playing cards most of the time. We had a good time, since it was pouring rain outside, it was pretty cool.
Sorry, did I ever mention I ever ate? Ya, I had some dinner, but nothing else. I think that's why I have a headache right now. lol
I'm at a loss for words, so I'm not even going to try and say anything else. Be sure to have a good night everyone!

Is is late? Nope, I'm just tired...

Played some golf today. I did quite well. Not to mention that this was my first game of the season. I play when I feel like it. I don't exactly seize every moment I get the chance, so with that too consider, I actually don't get very competitive. Because I know I'll lose. lol Today I shot a 97 on a par 70. I'm quite proud of breaking 100 on my first game. Normally I struggle, but I made less mistakes that usual, so I'm happy. ^_^
Got my report card from school this afternoon. Nothing special there, since I already knew all my marks (one of the perks for actually going to exam review day, lol). But I did find a medal attached to my report card. It was for a math contest I had written. I forgot I had gotten first place in our school, and in the top 10% of Canada. It was a long time ago (May?), so it took me by surprise. I should really make some sort of shelf for all these things, my box is a little full. lol...
After realaxing at home for a bit, we (family) all went to the library. Our town has a newish library, so it's actually nice to visit. It's about 2-3 years old, so I like to call it newish. lol Anyways, everyone found something but me. I'm not into reading books. I did try and find anime/manga drawing books, but I only found another version of one I had already checked out before. It's by Christopher Hart, and I don't really like his style of drawing "anime". It resembles more of an American cartoon. On first glance, I would never think that it was anime, but it says anime on the cover (yes, it means anime as in Japanese Animation). You know what's funny? I looked through all these "History of animation" books, and found nothing about animation in Japan. The best I could find was them talking about how some Disney stuff was really low budget, so they hired people in Japan, China, Taiwan and Korea to draw them cheap. But they assure the reader in the book that all the basics were made in the US, so as not to get you thinking the cartoon is from another country. -_-
My banner didn't make it. I'm disappointed because I'm really trying now. A lot of my earlier creations had little time put into them, but were voted in easily. Not it's getting harder and harder, but so much more work is being put into them. Talk about cruel. lol
I'm going to browse around a bit. Goodnight everyone.

Wasn't going to make an entry today, but...

Vancouver won the bid for the 2010 winter olympics! ^_^
Ya, Toronto didn't win the 2008 summer ones, but Vancouver in 2 years is just as good. lol
They narrowly won too. The first round was won by Pyeongchang (South Korea) with 51 votes, while Vancouver got 40 and Salzburg got 16. So Salzburg was eliminated and they voted again. This time Vancouver won 56 to 53. Just barely! It's like all the votes from Salzburg were then changed to Vancouver. Good thing too. ^_^
Other news...
One of my banners were rejected. lol The one I worked forever on. Says the text was too small. And here I thought I was being original by having the logo smaller than usual. lol -_-
Fell asleep while studying math this afternoon. There's just too much there. And today was the last day I had to work on it. I have to return the text book tomorrow. So now I'm going into summer school blind you could say. -_-
I think I'm getting attached to the anime series, Kare Kano. Go figure, a series that is also made by Gainex, and that (that I've heard) one of the main characters has a few problems like Shinji. Though all I've seen are music videos, so right now it's just a first impression.
SQ:
England and Wales sound great. Looks like another place I should visit the next time I travel outside of North America (or should I say the first time!). I like observing nature alone too, but I have a tendency to zone out if I am with other people. lol REM sleep you said? I never noticed that before. Maybe I should watch my friends nest time I catch them sleeping... lol ~_^

Happy Canada day everyone!

July 1st = Canada Day ^_^
I've been really feeling weird today. I'm not sure what it's about though. I guess I've just been putting too many thigns into my mind lately, that it's become difficult to actually focus on one single idea.
So what I did was this. When sitting in the backyard, I took out a notepad and started writing. No phrases, sentences, paragraphs or stories... just words. All the ideas that started going through my mind, I wrote them all down. Next thing I know, I had a few pages worth. Not full size I mean, this was a small notepad. I looked it over and realized a lot of it were things I wished to do on a regular basis during the day, but never actually got around to doing it. Like reviewing AMVs. I never do that anymore. Working on my Calculus notes, because I have to start summer school soon. Barely done anything of that sort. Working out. I quit that a few months ago because my knees were hurting, and was never able to restart. It's like I'm destroying my own life from the inside. 0_0
A lot of the problems is that I wait until I'm inspired to do anything. Well, if I always wait for inspiration, I'm going to spend a lot of time doing nothing. I need one single constant inspiration that I can always look up to, no matter what the situation. If I had that, maybe I could become a better person. Sounds like I need to go on a journey to find inner peace (sounds like something an anime show would revolve around).
Then I made a list of all the things I've been wanting to buy. Man, I'm a greedy kid! Everything is pretty expensive, and are things I don't need. It's all extra, you know, luxury. Where do I get ideas to live like this from? -_-
I'm going to have to write down meaningless notes like this more often. It helps to put your life into perspective. ^_^
SQ:
Looks like white water rafting is something I'll definitely have to try. Just like a few other things I agreed to try with some friends who are really keen on cool activities like that. A friend of mine wants to get his sky diving licence once he graduates from high school. He asked if I wanted to join him. I'm still pondering about it. lol
I'm going to have to visit England one day. I've never been, but a lot of my friends have and said they've had a great time. Maybe I'll go with them on a trip.
I always have the same expression... kind sounds like me right now. I haven't exactly been very active, over cheerful or extremely sad lately. Everyones been saying I look really thoughful, like I'm always thinking about something, which I actually am. lol
I had a mediocre dream last night. Nothing special, it was about hockey. It went from me watching a game, to me playing in one. It ended up with me getting angry at someone because he was insinuating that I'm a dirty player. I almost lost it at that point. But I woke up. I can tell it wasn't much of a dream because it lasted from the time I woke up at 9:00am, fell back asleep, and woke up again at 10:00am. lol
