  • Imagination beats out flashy animation... 2003-12-22 16:56:35 Without an incentive like school, there's almost no way to get me out of bed early. I got up just a few minutes past noon. This has got to be one of the first time I've woken up so late! It's 6:00pm right now, and it still feels like I got up not too long ago. -_-

    I watched Castle of Cagliostro (Lupin III) this afternoon. Which ended up being another great anime by Hayao Miyazaki. His movies have the most amazing imgination put on screen that I've ever seen. The plots and ideas are really great. Not to mention all the detailed work in the background and scenery. And there are little things that if you pay closer attention to, you'll be sure to grab. Like they drive on the left side of the road, but the driver's seat is still on the left side. Or how Lupin is molding something in his hotel room (before getting attacked by ninjas), and you only figure out what they were later in the movie when he tricks the count with his fake rings he made! One of the best parts about this movie? There was swearing, unlike Spirited Away, Castle in the Sky (Laputa) and Kiki's Delivery Service which were all dubbed by Disney. -_-

    Other than that, I haven't done much yet. I better go to bed earlier tonight so as I can wake up earlier and actually see a decent amount of daylight. ~_^

  • Holidays officially start... 2003-12-21 22:20:08 Nothing too impressive happened today. Though all I can say is that I'm going to sar needing a lot more fresh air. This basement room without any windows can make a person depressed very quickly. That's one of the main reasons I don't spend much time durin ghte day down here. Not to mention I miss the moonlight as well. Moonlight has got to be one of the most cleansing and pure lights I have ever seen. It's used in anime all the time. Maybe I'll sleep in the hallway during the next full moon. lol

    I finished up my Christmas shopping today. This has got to be one of my most expensive Christmas' ever. I'm not used to spending tso much money, but in reality, it's not problem at all. Just as long as they enjoy their gifts. ^_^

    Well, tomorrow is our first official day of the Christmas holidays. Should be a hectic day at the malls and stores. Though I'm not sure what I want to do. Maybe I'll start catching up on some reviews! Or do some work on my site!! Or make a banner that might actucally be voted worthy!!! Oh the possibilities. ~_^

  • Christmas is all around us... 2003-12-20 16:54:44 Everyone seems to be showing signs of having Christmas on the mind. Whether it's at the mall, in the stores, on television, or all around the town. But there just seems to be something missing. It just doesn't feel like the holidays yet, except for the part that I can spend my Saturday doing whatever I want, without feeling guilty about not working on my homework. I wonder what I could do to revive my Christmas spirit...

    I went looking for some anime for Christmas. The only box sets I could find was a Hello Kitty pack, Gundam Wing and a lot of Robotech. The Gundam Wing set would be nice, but I don't want anything for $260 (tax not yet included), not even as a gift. I don't know what else to tell my parents to try and find though.

    My brother's gift? Bought.
    My father's gift? Bought.
    My dog's gift? Bought.
    My mother's gift? Not yet found. I want to get her the movie Chicago, but the last few stores I've been to, said it was sold out. Hmmm... I wasn't expecting that. Guess I should search a little harder for now before I give up on that gift idea.

    No work done on site or graphics in a long time. But I just don't feel in the mood for any of it, not even to review another AMV. Maybe a break is in order until I get my head back. ~_^

  • One final day... 2003-12-18 19:04:23 What an attention hog I am. Making a Journal entry everyday. -_- Oh well, lack of will power I suppose.

    Today was my last in-car driving lesson. I've completed my lessons, and am now ready to try for my driving test. I guess I should book that appointment very soon, since a person normally has to book weeks in advance.

    In the homework section of my life, I have only one more project to work on tonight. I can't wait for these next two weeks of school-free fun. But I still have to work on my paintings... Oh well, painting isn't exactly as hard as writing essays and research papers. ^_^

    Wearing nice clothes is fun. I experimented again and took out a light sweater only worn once or twice before. I was doubting anyone would notice, but three people did, which was very nice.

    I think I'll walk to school tomorrow morning. It's the second shortest day of the year, and the shortest school day of the year. I just want to be able to say that I did it, that's all. Of course I'm sure it's going to be something like -10°C. Better bundle up!

    Ever notice how all those people who always seem so annoying, are actually really kind when you're with them by yourself? The other day I was walking home after school, and this guy slowed down behind me and asked if I wanted a lift. I always thought of this guy as one of the most annoying people at school. You know, throwing food in the cafeteria, acting out in class, and normally being quite rude. But here I was, sitting beside him, enjoying a nice conversation. He dropped me off at home, and I was sure to thank him. It seems that most people only act the way they do because they're in front of all their friends. And this isn't even the first time I've discovered this little tidbit of information. So just remember, that that very annoying person you hate, might actually be not that bad a guy if you could only talk to him when he's alone. ~_^

  • Break time... 2003-12-17 18:28:39 I just slept for about 45 minutes at my desk. But the craziest thing just happened! A spider just started coming down right in front of my face, in the middle of the room (from the ceiling)! I thought I was seeing things, but nope, a real spider was just about to land on my desk. Well, let's just say I put an end to that in a hurry. Imagine if I was still sleeping and it came down right on my head... 0_0

    I have two projects due by the end of the week, but since my mind's always been on that, my test tomorrow totally slipped my mind! I'm so glad I remembered because that could have been a total disastor otherwise. That means the rest of tonight should be spent checking over my notes. If I have that kind of will power that is. -_-

    I think some of my art work is going to be in the yearbook. If the yearbook committee does put it in, that would make me so happy. Fuuny though that it was the art work that I worked the least hardest on that has so far turned out to be my best work. o_0

    I got to go. I should really complete one of the two projects tonight so I don't leave it all to the last minute. And besides, working on one of them will be just like studying for my test. Two birds with one stone! ^_^
