Summer showers...
2004-07-07 23:57:20
It really poured today. In fact, these past few days have been pretty brutal with the short thunder showers. This morning it poured around 2:00am, but luckily mostly dryed up in time for me to bike to work around 9:00am. This evening was harsh though. I had a soccer game, and I knew earlier that there was a thunder storm on it's way, but I was hoping it would pass over us. In fact, everyone thought the same once all the dark storm clouds has gone right by us, but weren't we wrong. It was the light greyish sky that caught us off guard. Within minutes we were all drenched on the field. Talk about fun.
My days recently have been spent working, playing soccer, or relaxing in the backyard. Very simple. Once in awhile I play GameCube, jst to make sure I've beat everything, which of course I haven't. lol
So tomorrow is Thursday... Is there anything I have to do? Is there anything that I've planned, yet don't remember about? This is why I always write things down on paper and leave it on my desk, or else I'd never remember anything. -_-
Friday, I plan to go out to dinner with friends...
Saturday, I have dinner with my family and relatives...
Sunday, a certain friend of mine is coming back from vacation...
Maybe tomorrow I'll go out to lunch with my friends who just got back from their trip to New York city...
I actually filled out one of those internet surveys the other day. My friend usually sends one every few weeks to me. I may fill it out for fun, sometimes no. This time I filled it out, but the biggest surprise is that people are responding to it! I guess that's what happens in the summer when you're bored with nothing to do. ~_^
Funny thing. A week or two ago, I went to my cousin's birthday party and hung around with all the small kids. My aunt (who's a year younger than myself) was visiting from Montréal and came to the party. We've become pretty close thanks to the internet. Anyways, it was a skating party, but she can't skate on ice very well, so she spent most of the time hanging onto my arm. Though even off the ice, we were always close to eachother. What's funny is that now all the adults who spotted us think that we're an item. Kinda freaky, but understandable since no one knows we're related by blood. It's a shame. She's so much fun, and really cute. But even I have to admit, the thought that people may think we're couple never actually crossed my mind. Huh...

First day of work...
2004-07-05 23:35:00
Today was my first day of work at the mall.
It was pretty cool. I had the morning, so it was rather quiet. A good time to get some training done. You see, I work at a frozen yogurt shop, so it's busier during lunch hour and mid afternoon. It's a lot of fun. When it got busy, I was kinda overwhelmed, so I guess it's a good thing that I don't start working alone until at least next week. ^_^
Well, I've cleverly deduced the culprit behind my sore wrists. It's my workout. Or more precisely, shadow boxing. Wow, I guess all that snapping without anything to absorb the blow really does a number on your joints. -_-
I may not be able to get Residence at Ryerson. You see, many Universities offer guaranteed residence to all first year students. Not Ryerson though. So right now I'm sorta looking for possible apartments downtown. Maybe I could get something like Peter Parker in Spider-Man 2. Hey, I'm not picky. All I need is a floor and a door. lol
Lately I've been reading a lot of video game magazines to see what they all thought of E3. Of course since I'm a Nintendo fan, I'm a bit more interested in the Nintendo showing. One thing I'm happy to read is that mostly everyone is amazed with the look of the new Zelda game. And don't worry, I'm reading unbiased opinions (third party magazines, you know not stuff like Nintendo Power) so it's quite refreshing. Anyways, it's only two minutes of footage, so I shouldn't get to hyped about it yet. So for now I guess maybe I should busy myself with current games. Maybe I'll buy Zelda: Four Swords Adventure since it's supposed to be half decent, or maybe even Pokémon Colosseum, since that was supposed to be average. Don't worry, I'm still looking forward to Tales of Symphonia, which should be out sometim this month.
Funny how everyone in the gaming world may have a different opinion on the same game. For example, I heard Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes (GameCube) was supposed to be a pretty lame game, yet Electronic Gaming Monthly gave it an average score of 8.5. Not bad. It's like watching Reviews on the Run with Victor Lucas and Tommy Tallarico. One guy may hate the game, yet the other may love it! o_0 Still a great show though.

Happy Canada Day...
2004-07-02 01:14:40
Ok, it's a day late (Canada Day is July 1st), but I was busy all day. In fact, I was gone last night, and didnt' get home until late tonight.
Last night started with a job interview. Luckily it didn't drag on, because that could have been nerve racking. After that, a bunch of a us went to go check out Spider-Man 2. Great movie! Has a few dumb parts, but nonetheless it was awesome.
After the movie, someone had the idea to have a sleepover. No one had any objections, so the five of us got all of our stuff and headed over to one person's house to stay over. We ended up creating an anime night, since the majority of us were anime fans. I got to watch the whole series of Prétear for the first time. My two friends are totally in love with that series. I thought it was pretty good, kinda traditional though. Anyways, we watched anime until the sun was coming up. We slept until lunchtime and made some chocolate chip pancakes. We slept some more, and by the time we had showered and everything, it must have been 3:00pm. Some people went home to grab some things, but I stayed behind to keep my friend company. After getting changed, we headed down to the park to play around. She loves playing on the swings.
It felt so weird. It was about 4:00pm, but technically I had only gotten up not too long ago. It seemed like it was 10:00am, if only East was West, and vice versa (so the sun instead of setting was rising). Next we got the crazy idea to dye our hair red for Canada Day. All the girls got streaks, but the other guy and I just had random red hair stuff put in our hair. Since our hair isn't long enough, they dipped a toothbrush in the stuff, and brushed it around. Luckily since my hair is already brown, the colour is not that noticeable.
After that, I had to stop at home and take my brother to a friend's house all the while dropping and picking up even more people. At the same time, I had to drop off a blood pressure pill for my father, since he was at a friend's house for dinner. I stopped in, and greeted everyone. The funniest thing I thought was the greeting I got from one of their daughters', who's two years younger than me. We've been friends forever, so we know eachother pretty well. Anyways, she starts off by asking about the intimate details of my life. o_0 Supposedly my father's been going around telling everyone that I've been spending a lot of time with a certain friend (the girl whose house I slept over at), so he thinks we may be an item. Unfortunately that's not true. She's amazing, funny, cute, totally energetic and fun, but not the girl whom I care the most for. Anyways, after the pleasantries were over, I headed back so we could check out some fireworks and enjoy the rest of the evening. By this time I think we were getting tired, so a bit more anime and it was time to head home. ^_^

Unprepared new anime fans...
2004-06-27 17:16:26
I always find it funny when new anime fans discover and realize for themselves all those oh so well known facts the rest of the anime community has been aware of for some time now. Some of my friends have been borrowing my anime DVDs, and guess which series they just finished watching? Yup, Neon Genesis Evangelion! In fact, I just got a call where the first phrase yelled at me was "Kevin, what the hell?!?!" It's all fun and games until someone loses their sanity.
Everytime I watch that full Spider-Man 2 trailer it simply sends shivers through my body. That's what happens when you put awesome music in your trailer!

Quiet time of the year...
2004-06-27 14:57:04
It's slowed down some in the past few days. It's a ncie change of pace, but it makes me uneasy because I know I have tons of things I should be doing instead of relaxing.
I'm still looking for a job. I've applied at tons of places, and hopefully I'll be able to get that night shift job I'm hoping for.
Last night I wrote a 9 page entry in my Journal I keep at home. Usually my entries are about 2-3 pages long. It's a small Journal, but still, I put so much detail and kept getting sidetracked that before I knew it, I was already pages and pages into it.
My cousin from Montréal has come to visit. She's a great girl. She's a year younger than me, and we've been chatting by e-mail all the time for the past few months. One thing that I find it funny is that in one way she's a lot like my brother, she's very interested in my lovelife. Well, that subject is very complicated right now, so I couldn't give her any answers that satisfied her enough.
