Yay, internet...
2004-09-07 16:37:41
So I finally got the internet in my room. I'm a little disappointed though that I wasn't able to figure it out on my own. That just proves that my knowledge in computers still has a long way to go. lol
Today is also the first day of classes. It's pretty cool. They've all been very short so far, and the day's gone by pretty quick. I still have one more actually, and I'll be leaving for that class in half an hour.
Cool thing happened today. When I was coming out of HMV at the corner of Yonge and Dundas, there was a parade going by from all the Engineering students at U of T (University of Toronto). And boy, was there a lot of them all dyed in purple and everything. Is that a regular Engineering thing to do, dye your entire body purple? My school did it, and now U of T. I suppose it's a good way to bond with people in your faculty...
I feel so fulfilled now that the internet is running properly in my residence room. That was the only big project I had left to worry about. Posters, food, garbage, printer... They're all little things I can live without, but not being able to communicate easily with everyone I know was killing me. Now I can write simple e-mails to all my friends who left to University this past weekend, and talk to my girlfriend tonight too! This is a huge weight that has finally been taken off my shoulders.

Still no internet...
2004-09-05 18:22:48
I still don't have any internet in my residence room. It's driving me nuts because there's tons of things I need to do. The only consolation is that I was able to go home for the long weekend (Labour Day) and get all the things done that were needed to be done. I'm also picking up a few more things like batteries, extension cords, posters... You know, all the essentials in University. lol
Today is the big day though for almost all my friends. Sure I moved into residence a week ago, but today everyone else is moving in. That includes my girlfriend. [sigh] It wasn't so bad when I moved in and she was still at home, because it was easy to see her. Now she's three hours away, with no easy way of accessibility. For the first time in years, I really don't feel very well about this. Both emotionally and physically.
So now my friends have all moved in, but they still don't start classes until next week. On the flipside, I start classes this very Tuesday. Quite the downer, huh. Especially when I don't have the internet.
I think I've been pushing my limits lately with my parents. For two nights in a row, I've stayed out to about 4:30am with my girlfriend. My parents said that if I ever do it again, they'll take away my car driving priviledges for a good while. Totally understandable. I knew I should have come home earlier last night, but it was our last night together, and there was no way I could leave her while she was still awake. So it looks I'm finally going to suffer the consequences. Which is fine with me, because I know I did something wrong.
I haven't written an AMV opinion in weeks. And to think, that Frosh week at University was the perfect time, but without the 'net, I was at a total loss. Hopefully I'll be able to write something soon.
I just thought of something, will I be able to download anime music videos at University? That may be considered excessive downloading, just like using Kazaa. Darn, that's going to bite big time.

Every journey begins with the first step...
2004-08-31 11:40:13
Well, here I am. I'm now living in residence and taking part of campus life here at Ryerson Univeristy. So far, I actually don't think it's been that much of a change. I've adapted easily so far, and everyday life seems to be going smoothly. Though I have to remember that this is just Frosh Week, and that school hasn't REALLY started yet. -_-
And guess what?! It's my birthday today! This will be the third birthday I've celebrated with the Org. Such good times. I'm such a youngin' compared to everyone else, because I JUST turned 18. That means I still have another year before I can start drinking, legally of course. What a shame. Good thing I don't really touch the stuff. ~_^
Unfortunately the internet in my room still is not working, but luckily I found the school's library. Talk about a life saver. But because it's the library, I don't want to spend very much time here because this is not school related work.
Oh ya, just thought I'd mention that I was reading the newpaper today, and read an articla about CNanime. Cool stuff. There was a picture of this couple of girls cosplaying Tokyo Mew Mew. If that was you, let me just say Awesome Stuff!
Anyways, I'm having a great time. My girlfriend and parents are coming down to say hi for my birthday today. Should be fun. Well see you later, and hopefully I'll get the internet by tonight. ^_^

Last entry before I set out into the world...
2004-08-29 01:44:43
Here I am. I'm sitting in my room, but things feel different. In a few minuntes I'm going to unhook this computer, and pack it together to bring tomorrow. My television has already been taken out, and many of my posters and artwork have been packed as well. [sigh] I can't believe this, that I have to move out a week ahead of all my friends. Guess it's just my luck that my school, Ryerson University, would prefer to start earlier than everyone else. -_-
I said goodbye to so many of my friends. I know I'll probably see them as soon as next week, but I suppose it will feel strange considering these are people whom I've seen everyday practically for the past 4 years... Now that gets you thinking.
Well, I shouldn't drag this on any longer. It's time to shut thigns down, and pack up. When I think about it, I'll probably be able to make another Journal entry as soon as tomorrow night, so why do I feel so nervous about the whole ordeal? [sigh]

Final days before University...
2004-08-28 02:20:40
Lately I've been packing for University, working or spending time with my girlfriend.
It still feels odd to say "spending time with my girlfriend" since the whole thing is still pretty new. But she's so amazing. She loves Finding Nemo, so that's basically "our" movie. Actually, it's funny. She has a huge family, and they love to gossip. So whenever she gets together for reunions (like every other week), she gets bombarded with questions about her personal like. And guess who has now become the main topic on everyones mind in her family? Yup, me. ^_^
It was actually just her birthday a few days ago. I had recently made her a Finding Nemo painting, but I felt something was needed for the day of her birthday. So the night before, I wrote a poem and stayed up all night just so I could make sure I was awake at 6:00am in order to leave it on her doorstep before she left for work. When I got home, I slept for a few hours, and when went to the flower shop to buy some flowers which I left at her doorstep again just in time for when she got home. Though I didn't want to just leave it, so I hid at the side of her house to make sure she got it, and then left when she picked them off. I left it annonymously, so she didn't know it was me until much later that day, after spending the day guessing whom they were from (father, mother, grandparents...). She said she liked them, so that basically made my day. ^_^
Back to packing. I put all my anime DVDs and related junk into CD binders, and let's just say the things are becoming a bit heavy. I have three cases. Two 128 holders, and one 208 holder. Could you imagine if I filled all three up?! That would be mindbogelling. Luckily I'm only around halfway on all three.
Today was my last day at work. And you would have thought the entire world knew it, by how busy we were. For the first two and a half hours of my shift, it was non-stop. I had on average a 10 person line up, and I was working alone the first two hours. Sheer mayhem. We were running out of juices, yogurt and the like, and I had no time to retstock anything with so many people in line. Then a shipment of ice cream came in, and the guy warned me that his freezer broke, so it was all melting. Rush, rush, rush... This is how busy I was. I spilled something on the floor, and the best I could do to clean it up was to put a towel on the spill until fours hours later when I could actually wipe it up. But in the end it was fine. The people who work there even gave me a goodbye card with a small gift. That was incredibly nice. ^_^
Final thought, why do so many banners bite? Just wondering. There's so many, and even the ones that get voted in, still have some major faults in them. I'd much rather do things this way: have much less banners voted in, but making sure they look great. It's embarrassing sometimes what banners are representing this awesome site.
