  • Pleasant surprise... 2005-03-13 03:37:13 Guess who's sleeping in my bed right now? My girlfriend!

She came up with the idea to come visit this weekend the other day. I really liked it. She's never come down here only to visit me, since it's like going home, but not actually seeing your own family. I've always felt a little bad about it because everytime I visit her, it's just us, but never like that when she comes home. Since I only usually see her for a few hours, she heads home.

But she got here Friday evening, and we've spent lots of time together since then. Skating, shopping, eating (lol), watching tv... But since her she wasn't going home, her parents decided to come down her and have dinner with us. And for the heck of it, I invited my parents too. Talk about embarrassing. Both sets of parents for dinner. lol But we survived, and it was fun.

Next weekend I'll be visiting her, so that will be awesome too. In the meantime I have some mean looking projects to get over with. That could cause some trouble. -_-

[groan] So hungry... But I can't make anything without waking her up, since this is only a one small room residence. Guess I'll just have to bite the bullet. lol

  • Raw determination... 2005-03-08 03:06:25 I went into Studio late tonight to work with my group on our group model, but I suppose I was too late, since no one else was there.

But that was ok, because it gave me the opportunity to redo my Studio Charette. A charette is like a in class assignment lasting about 3 hours and could involve drawing or model building. Today we had to build a bridge that span over 600mm and could hold a 28oz can of tomoatoes for more than a minute. Our materials were popsicle sticks, glue, string and tailoring pins. If it can hold the weight, you pass. But you get a higher grade for a lighter model. Anyways, in the end, I never even made it to the line to test my project (we had to get in line to show a professor). But I was sure I had a good idea...

So I went into Studio and redid the entire project, with a time limit and everything, mimicking the same experience. This time, I stuck to my idea and it was perfect. The worst part though is that I think I could have had a chance for the lightest project. I used 34 popsicle sticks, and about the same amount in pins. I went around to the other sections (since people just left their projects on their desks), and they all had something like 50+ popsicle sticks and always used the glue and string. Well, I got zero on the charette, but at least I know I could have won...

Anyways, my hands are in pain from trying to hammer skinny little pins using anything I could find, slowly into popsicle sticks, so not to have them split on me. Tough work. Worst is when the bend. Imagine hitting a nail. What do you do when the nail gets bent? Well, I was trying to straighten out this skinny thing with my bare hands, which resulted in quite a few yelps. Luckily since nothing is due this week, Studio was basically empty. ^_^

  • Unrealiable connection... 2005-03-04 19:28:18 It works, then breaks.

I log on, then it freezes.

The inconsistency of the quality of my internet is really starting to get on my nerves. I haven't been able to download a single new AMV as of late, which puts a damper on voting for the VCAs. Usually I try to view all the Nominees before votings, but this time I'm afriad I'll have to for go voting for certain categories this year. Hopefully things will perk up soon. Especially considering I haven't "really" logged onto my e-mail account in about 2 weeks. I've only had enough luck to see if I had any new messages.

And don't get me started on banners. Haven't done a single thing in that area of my life.

Not to mention my room is so messy. And I mean, this is really messy, especially since my room is always pretty clean. I have cut up newspapers all over the floor. Dirty dishes in my bathroom. Bags and shows all around the entrance. Clothes all over my bed and chairs... This feels so unlike me. lol

  • The things you do for friends... 2005-03-03 01:25:13 Today is my neighbour's birthday, in residence. She's turning twenty, so basically a year older than me. She's definitely one of my closest friends that I've made since coming to University, especially since we're both in the same program.

A couple of hours ago, the other guy on my floor in my program (who's my other closest friend here), had the idea to go get her flowers for her birthday. So we went out just now (yes, just past midnight) and got some flowers, and an Elmo helium balloon. It was just so funny because right when we were leaving the elevator, and planned to dart into his room with all the flowers and stuff, she (by actual coincidence) popped out of her room too. She saw us with all of our stuff, and just started laughing, which gave us enough to get in my friend's room without any questions having been asked. Anyways, in the end, she now has two nice bouquets of flowers and a big balloon in her room for her birthday, so hopefully she'll be happy. Ya, we snuck into her room and planted it all there while she was over at another friend's room. lol

  • Big, big news... 2005-02-27 22:52:40 .hack//SIGN is coming to YTV!!!

That's big news for Canadians like myself. The majority of people have probably seen the series on Cartoon Network, but since we don't get that channel in Canada... No dice for us. But this is perfect, because I was slowly renting .hack//SIGN from my local video store. Sweet...

.hack//SIGN, DragonBall, DragonBall GT, InuYasha, Witch Hunter Robin, SD Gundam Force, Gundam Seed, Yu-Gi-Oh, Dual Masters... It's almost like they listened when so many people complained that Gundam Wing, Escaflowne, DragonBall Z, Sailor Moon, Pokémon and Digimon was just not enough anime.

By the way, the next entry below is my real entry for the day. This was just in the wake of my happy attitude...
