Good things take time...
2005-03-29 17:09:13
I just stumbled onto a very amazing discovery... How to play AMVs on my DVD played by VCD!!!
I woke up really early this morning, and was wasting a lot of time. Then I started thinking... To burn a VCD, do you need special compact discs, sort of like DVDs? Well, since I bought a whole bunch of junk CDs the other day, I decided to try it out. You know, if it doesn't work, then I unfortunately ruin a CD. Oh well.
After ruining about 3 CDs, it worked! Problem was that the encoding took about an hour and a half! Luckily once I noticed it was taking long, I just went to class and let it do it's magic. The result? A CD that now plays 20 of my favourite AMVs! ^_^ Unfortunately, I could only use files that came as MPEG. I ended up ruining CDs when burning AVI files. So all you guys who've made great AMVs as AVI better encode a new version as MPEG... [shakes fist] lol

Awesome tech stuff at home...
2005-03-26 10:14:42
Scratch what I said last time. I'm never going to stop complaining! lol
Anyways... so there's a lot of banners. Can't do much about that. But at least make them semi-related to AnimeMusicVideo.org. It's really kinda of annoying when the two really have no connection at all. -_-
This stuff is so cool. My dad has always had a laptop and an extra monitor. Usually what he does is plut his laptop to his monitor whenever he's at home, since it's easier on the eyes. But this time he's done that thing where the two combine to create one huge screen. It's just totally insane. All I do is place the two monitors somewhat close to eachother, and I can watch myself drag the mouse over one desktop to the other! This means I can browse the internet on one screen, while watching AMVs (full screen) on the other screen. All being controlled with one mouse, one keyboard, and one computer! Sweet...
My dad also picked up a Blackberry. You know, that little Telus handheld system. He loves it because he's able to pick up his e-mail on it. Especially since he needs that for work.
Well, I'm at home right now. I'll be here for just one more day. I got here around noon yesterday, and spent the entire day just at home. Of course my girlfriend came over for dinner, but it was just so strange to simply stay here. Today I'll be out all day for my friend's belated birthday party. Then it's back to residence.
My brother's not even at home right now. He's gone on a school trip to France and Spain! Wow, the little guy has definitely now traveled further than me in the world. Lucky... ~_^

Even the cool headed panic...
2005-03-23 22:03:08
[faints]
I think I just broke my Digital Camera. I was talking on the phone to my girlfriend, and when I dropped it, I was speechless. When I told her what happened, she joked with her friend (who was over with her) that I just dropped my camera, my other baby (besides her).
But this is serious. I'm like panicking right now. I have no idea what to do except for waiting until tomorrow. Worst part about that is that is that there's still a lot of time until then. I have work to do tonight, so that involves having this horrible cloud of gloom hover over me for the next 14 hours until I can get it looked at. It's going to make every second feel like an eternity.
[shudders] There are just so few things that I care this much about, that losing it would definitely do a lot of damage...

A not so holiday coming up...
2005-03-22 22:43:46
That 's it. There's just an overflow of banners right now. I can't handle basically every other banner receiving enough votes. ...I guess I should stop venting about it now. -_-
This weekend is the Easter weekend. Usually that means a nice four day weekend to relax. But... Not this year. Seems that Universities don't give Easter Monday off. So that means only 3 days off. The biggest problem though is that there already seems to be so much stuff going on, and I can't afford to do it all because of homework. So I'll have to visit my family on Friday and Saturday, but skip Easter dinner with my girlfriend's family on Sunday to be back here. Kinda bites. But there's just no way I can take all three days off. Unlike most people, my most hectic time is the two weeks before exams. I'm working on projects while other people are studying. And remember, it's not like I don't have exams. I just can't afford to think about them until classes are over. Ummm... So depending on when my first exam is, that gives me as little as one day of studying. Yay me...
On a lighter note. If you ever need a good laugh, call me when I'm taking a nap. If you're lucky enough to actually wake me, it should prove to be a funny experience on your part. My girlfriend just did that, and for the first few minutes, I had no idea what was going on. I picked up the phone without answering, because for some reason I thought I was picking up my messages. When she started talking, I was like "Whoa, what are you doing on the phone right now?". She got a good laugh out of that.

A creepy trend...
2005-03-21 09:58:29
I'm gone for the weekend, lots of banners get voted in. [correction] No offense, but lots of banners I would have not voted for were voted in.
This has got to be the 4th time or something I've mentionned. And you know it's getting pretty bad when I'm tired of talking about it, but there always seems to be a surge of banners (who in my opinion, are not that great) that become worthy while I'm away. It's no longer a surprise when I leave and I see 547 banners, then come back two days later with 554 banners. It literally makes me feel nauseous.
Ok. Shake it off...
I'm also annoyed because I was up until 6:00am, during which my internet was not working at all. I accidently fell asleep, making me almost late for my 9:00am class. And since I decided to come back for a second, my internet is working fine at 10:00am. Why in the world did it have to remain broken for the few precious hours I had free. [grumble]
Just got back from a great weekend at my girlfriend's. Ya, she was just here last weekend, but I was already planning on visiting her, so it just meant I would see her two weekends in a row. Anyways, it was a lot of fun, and we did a lot of things in such a small amount of time. ^_^
By the way, I saw Shaun of the Dead with her. Hilarious movie. A little gruesome at some scenes, but in general a really good horror/comedy movie, since I guess they really exist. lol
