Another Summer day
2002-07-17 10:59:07
Well, like I said, just another summer day. Things can get a little boring around my home during the holidays. First of all, I always get up at about 8:00am. All of my friends, though, are struggling to crawl out of bed by 1:00pm. So, that leaves me about 5 hours of me time. That means computer, GameCube, GameBoy, reading and a little bit of swimmimg. However, once they get up, most of them have to go to work. Summer jobs! Please, I'm not even trying to get one of those until next year. So, there's no one to do anything with.
Then again, I do have a little brother. He's 2 years younger than me, so 13. But he's at the stage in his young life where he gets ticked off easily, you really shouldn't bother him and every comment is a sarcastic remark. Of course... he's only like that around the family, not his friends. Also, he gets up anywhere from 10:00am to 12:00pm.
I guess I could go do some sort of outdoor activity, but it's still just a little hot outside. The high for today is 35 degrees Celcius (95 Farenheit). Well, tomorrow is another day. Who knows what it will bring... maybe a nice storm.

Neon Genesis Evangelion
2002-07-03 22:04:02
Lately I've been renting DVDs of newer animes, to me. I've seen the 1st Evangelion DVD, so I rented the 2nd. I prefer to watch the dubbed series than the subbed, or maybe even the dubbed and subbed at the sametime (don't you love DVDs).
Evangelion has great animation and the coolest plot. It lacks a little the music departement, but as it progresses, it's getting better. Also, some voices just don't seem to fit their characters (in the english version), like, shingi's at times can get a little high, Asuka seems to have a German accent only for a portion of the time and Misato's belches are a little weak. However, there are just some animes where you can nit pick at all of its faults all day and it doesn't matter, because there's something about it you just can't help but love.
For this reason, I've been trying to buy the "Neon Genesis Evangelion Perfect Collection DVD Boxset", well, good luck to me. Something like that is a little expensive, and even so, I can't find one. There are a lot on eBay, but those are also expensive, along with shipping + handling. Someday I'll find one, so I can claim one of the greatest animes, ever as my own.

Is it hot in here or what?
2002-07-02 19:51:24
Another scorching hot day where I live, just outside of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It reached a high of 35 degrees Celcius (95 degrees Farenheit). I have a feeling though, it will just get hotter this summer. Since my computer is in my room and there isn't very good circulation in there, even with the air conditioning on, I've been forced to use it only at night and early morning. Otherwise it just gets unbearably hot. During the day, I use the pool or chill in the basement, and I really mean chill because it's nice and cool. Right now, I'm just using my dad's computer, since it's still sunny out. This might just be a long summer... Well, gotta go get ready, I have a soccer game tonight. Luckily at my age we still have a houseleague (non-competitive) soccer league. Organized sports become fewer and fewer when you reach 15. I know what you're thinking, it's too hot to play soccer, but the advantage at 15, is that you play at 9:00 at night, under the lights. Later.

Participation
2002-06-25 11:57:47
You know what disappoints me, when people become a member and thats all! It happens quite often here. This is a great site with many features. Why bother joining if you're not going to participate. I may not do everything, but I try to stay involved. I comment on videos and write these journals. However, some people join and don't even write any information about themselves. They have their login name and e-mail. That's all, not even a single word in the profile. Isn't this made to bring us together.
I bring this up because I like seeing the whole picture. I also like discovering new things. So when I browse through the members profiles here, and see that practically only half have written something about themselves, it is sort of discouraging. Of course, everyone has the right to do what he or she wants to. But it is always nice to discover something new, which will be impossible unless we all contribute.

Not enough room
2002-06-20 20:46:55
It is too bad a person's top 10 anime couldn't be their top 20, because I feel bad that I can't squeeze in anymore and end up leaving some great animes out. Just like Metropolis. I bought that DVD the other day and loved it. It has a good plot with strange twists and background music the majority of the time. I say that because I can't stand movies or shows with no background music, it makes me feel like nothing is happening, the scene gets too quiet and I practically fall asleep. It tends to ruin what could be a great movie, like Street Fighter Alpha(the movie), nice action, fight scenes and new characters, but at points I get too bored without something in the background. Oh well, back to the topic(I tend to trail off), I just want to fit in a bit more movies or shows, like Metropolis, Princess Mononoke and Ninja Scroll. But I guess the whole point of the top 10 is to narrow it down and make you really think of what you're choosing, so that some people don't just put all the shows they've ever heard of, just to look like some expert in the field.
