  • Montreal - Day 2 2002-08-12 22:22:14 Looks like I`m just gonna keep filling these in as long as I`m here. It`s a good way to look back. Today, we went to a hot-air balloon show. It`s called L`INTERNATIONAL DE MONTGOLFIRERES DE SAINT-JEA-SUR-RICHELIEU (phew! thank god for CAPS Lock). We went there around 11am, but they said that that show is only at 6pm and 6am. So, we decided to go back there at 6pm. In the meantime, we had lunch and went shopping. I picked Evangelion: Death & Rebirth, so I was a happy camper. But still haven`t had the time to watch it. It`s a double sided DVD, that`s so cool!

Anyways, at the show, there was about 100 hot-air balloons. They were all different shapes and sizes. One looked like a upside down hot-air balloon, another looked like that Sugar Crisp guy, another looked like Mr. Potato Head. But my favourite looked like a tree trunk, and had birds all attached to the sides. I thought it was the best one by far. Once we got back from that, I`ve been here. With these long days, I`ve been forced to retire early. So, it may be time to hit the hay (after I have a snack first ^_^).
  • Montreal - Day 1 2002-08-12 09:51:57 Well, I`m finally here. It didn`t actually take too long. I came by train and it was a 5 hour ride. I`m staying with my grand parents and my brother came too. We plan on staying here for about 1 week.

    Train trip:
Left home at 8:30am to go to the train station. We got there pretty early so we had time to check it out. Not much at the train station at Guildwood. The VIA train came and Jason and I got on, saying goodbey to our parents. We sat together by a window. But guess what! We had these 2 guys, about 12 years old, sitting in front of us, the pair of seats in front of us I mean. Were they annoying or what! Putting their faces in between the seats and making faces. Making prank phone calls to pizza places by cell phone. I literally had to get up and tell them to shut up, I little bit more politely though. They left after an 1.5 hours, so the rest of the trip was fine.

Got off at Montreal, and boy was it hot. The train was freezing, so the difference was unbelievable. Our grand parents dropped pcked us up and we headed to their house. We went swimming a little bit and then had dinner. After that we went downstairs to watch TV. Because, I mean did I mention it was hot! A lot of channels were french. Not like I didn`t expect that, but I did find a few english channels: YTV, Global, CTV, TSN and Fox 44. I don`t really need any other channels. Well, it was a long, so I went to bed at 11pm, but I didn`t get to sleep until 12am. I wonder why? Oh ya, it`s hot!
Gotta go, a new day begins. ^_^
  • VAREKAI 2002-08-10 17:25:49 I went to Cirque du Soleil on Friday, August 10, yesterday. It was so awesome! This was one of their traveling shows and it was here in Toronto, at Ontario Place. It was called VAREKAI. This was the 2nd show I've seen. The other was MYSTERE, at Treasure Island, in Las Vegas. I can't believe some of things they do. The acrobatic physique you would need to do the flips, jumps and ackward positions they do is mind boggling.
And you can always rely on some sort of comic relief. In MYSTERE, they had this guy dressed up as a big baby and was just hilarious. It was the same last night, only it was this guy as a magicien, a girl as his assistant and this weird looking, well I guess he was some type of scientist.
At the end, we all gave them a standing ovation, not once, not twice, but three times. Well, we stood up to cheer and they came out to take their bow. Once they exited the stage, we cheered even louder, so they came out again and took another bow. They exited again, and we cheered even louder again, so... they came out again and took another bow. But once they left after their third bow, I guess everones hands were hurting a little from clapping, because no one tried for a fourth. I guess a fourth though is a little extreme. We might as well have drained whatever little energy they had left. But they definitely deserved the applause.
I'm just going to have to make one of my goals, to see all the performances of Cirque du Soleil.
  • Just some problems 2002-07-28 23:39:31 Well, I'm barely surviving with the hardrive space that I have right now. I have a 12 GB hardrive. I filled that up quite quickly and have to now delete old music videos from my computer to make room everytime I download new ones. Luckily I back them up on CD and on my brother's hardrive. Sure I still have them, but it's the whole point of convinience. Watching it off a CD, the picture and sound is skippy and not smooth, same with watching it across our network from Jason's computer. I guess some day I'll have to buy more space.

Yawn! Oh, well. It may only be 11:40pm, but I'm falling asleep at this computer. Time to turn in for the night.
  • No rain in 2 weeks 2002-07-21 18:33:46 I really don't think we've had rain in over 2 weeks. It's getting a little rediculus. There's no water shortage though, yet. But what's worse is that they, the weather announcers, keep getting our hopes up with "30% chance of showers", ya right. What's weird is that it's like our area just doesn't get rain. 1 hour south, in downtown Toronto, it was pouring rain the other day, but not here.

I'm the type of guy who prefers it to be raining. A little water never hurt anyone. Actually, a lot of water never hurt anyone, unless they drowned... Anyways, I wouldn't mind a nice storm or something. Our lawn is just a little dried up right now. One of those lawns that you walk on you hear that crunching sound. This grass certainly doesn't help me playing soccer. If you fall hard, I can guarantee you you won't be looking so pretty. Oh well, like I said, tomorrow's another day. And the weather guy says 30% chance of showers, so maybe we'll get lucky.
