JOURNAL: Anime Jedi

  • Weird, I thought I made a Journal entry yesterday... 2003-02-02 21:22:32 Oh well, just have to do another one!

Let's see, if my last entry was Thursday, and I had my Exam Review day that day... Ok, I know where I am now! ^_^

Friday was a slow day. I didn't do anything that really involved much activity. I did finish watching...

***Don't watch television and try to use the computer at the same time! You'll never even look at the computer screen until it's commercial. LOL I was just watching Malcolm in the Middle, but I found I only wrote about a 2 lines, so I forced myself to turn it off. I have to admit, it was funny enough that I found it hard to just turn it off on my own free will.

Where was I? Oh ya! ...Shadow Skill: the Movie. It was pretty good. The fight scenes are awesome, and the music to go with it was pretty good. I'm kinda disappointed with the voice acting of the dubbed version though. I felt the voices just didn't match the characters. Funny how the best voice acting is on the shows on television. Well, that's in my opinion.

Friday, Friday... Well, after that, it was still slow. Ended up going to dinner at the Wild Wing again. We pretty much get wings from there every Friday, whether it's take-out or we eat in. We were going to go to Cosco after that, but it was getting late, and my parents didn't think we had nearly enough time. So we went home, I worked out, watched Made In Canada and The Red Green Show, and went on the forums/Messenger. But wait! Something that I didn't expect did happen! I got my Nintendo Power magazine! I was so happy. Not only that, I got the previous month's issue, one that I thought I would have to back-order to get. Got some nice posters in it, and even got a CD with the music from SSBM, live! It's so cool. ^_^

***I just remembered! I was supposed to wash the washrrom down here today, or at least sometime last week. Damn! Now I really feel like an idiot. All those times my brother doesn't do things, and then here I am, doing the same. Maybe I'll get to it tomorrow...

Saturday started with me getting late. Late nights = late mornings. I watched Macross: the Movie, another DVD I had rented. I was surprised at the length. But it was a nice movie to watch. Went to Cosco after that. What big place! It was my first time. Though with everything they have, I was really surprised with their video game selection. I felt they had practically nothing. Oh well, good thing we went to Future Shop after that. They had Resident Evil 2 and 3 out! I didn't buy them, even though they were quite cheap. I was hoping to find two things, 1)The soundtrack to the Legen of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time and 2)Some sort of indication that they were going to sell the Zelda:OT for GC disc when you reserve a copy of Zelda:WW. No luck. I didn't bother asking, but I'll call next weekend, and if it's true. I'm willing to pay $15 to reserve WW just to get OT for GC! ^_^ Jason had hockey that night, and I didn't do too much other than be on the internet. After, I worked out again, pretty late I admit, showered and went to bed, very late, like 3:00am.

This morning, I didn't get up too late, around 10:00am. I watched Digimon: the Movie as one of the first things I did. I really like that movie. But if there was anything I could change, it would be the dumb punchlines by the narrarator (Kari) at the beginning. It was funny the first and second time, but now it's plain annoying. They don't even need it in there for two reason: 1)She the narrator, if they blank her out, no one would notice 2)She's barely advancing the plot. Making pretty much jokes every 10 seconds. Oh well, other than that, it was a really nice movie. That part when Wargreymon and Metalgarurumon gets blasted good, and Tai and Matt float down to them, always gets me.

After that, I went to my brother's hockey game, and he won. Which was surprising, considering they were leveled by the same team the previous day. Very close too. Then, more hockey when we got home, the All-Star game. We didn't watch the Skills portion on Saturday, but Sunday afternoon was the game. VERY close. It starts like anyother All-Star game, goals and fancy plays. No one wants to hit, since this is only fun. Well, by the time the game was ending, Danny Heatly had scored 4 goals, and the score was 5-5! The players actually got a little physical, since it was still a tie. The game was a tie at the end of regulation, so it when to overtime. Still no score! Shootouts! It was still close, but the Western team won in the shootouts. My favourite player, Paul Kariya, helped them out to win that shootout. ^_^ Awesome goal too. Though in reality, I didn't really care which team won in the end. lol

With that over, I cleaned up my room a bit (YES, forgetting the washrrom), and played some Super Mario Sunshine. That game isn't too hard, but it's long and confusing. I play once in a while, and I'm still going. Dinner was lasagna, and our friend was over because his parents were out, and he needed someone to pick him up from his trip. So dinner was good, and I watched some more television before I had hockey. Guess what? Mulan was on! That was got to be my favourite Disney movie, and one of my all-time favourite ones. Just love it. I only got to watch a few minutes, but that was enough for me. I had a hard time putting in my contacts in time for hockye, as usual, and today my right one really hurt. I think I had something in it, but I didn't have enough time to take it out and try to put it back in. Well, we won! I'm very glad. That means we are now have two wins and two losses in these playoffs. Very close game. We won by a score of 1 - 0. They were a much faster team, but our goalies (yes, one play for half the game, the other the other half) pulled through for us. No, no points for me. Oh well, it was still a good game. ^_^ Took a shower and here I am! Hmmm... that was long. Congrats on reading the whole thing! You know have a good idea of my life. ^_^

    See ya later,

  • They're over! And I got sooooo average! 2003-01-30 23:55:32 Well, I finished all of my exams a bit ago, and got all of my marks back today! But before that, how about my Computer exam?

My Computer Programming exam was so easy! I finished with lots of time. I actually got to catch up on my sleep. LOL I bet I finished like half an hour early or more. I just sat there, closed my eyes, and started to drift away. But woke up when the back of the class was laughing for no apparent reason. Oh well, I handed it in, and that was done. All of my exams were finally over! ^_^

Well, today was exam review day. A pointless day where you go to each class as usual, and get to review your exam, including getting your final mark. So now that I think about it, it's not that pointless, but there's not sense in making it the whole day, since you can do all of that in an hour. Oh well, I survived the whole time, just barely. Each class had like 4 people in it! And as the day went on, they got smaller and smaller (class size that is)!

How about the actual marks? Lets go in order. In Computers, I got 81%, with a 78% exam. Then in French, I got 80%, with a 93% exam! Then in Math, I got a 82%, with a 65% exam! Then in English, I got 79%, with a 87% exam! Wonder what's weird? For my best subjects, I did the worst on my exam, Computers and Math! But for my worst subjects, I got the best on my exam, French and English! Amazing! And in a row, I got 79, 80, 81, 82! Freaky! ^_^

My English teacher is travelling for the next semester! ;_; That makes me sad, because she's just such a great teacher. I really believe that she's the only reason my mark in English is so high. She's going to New Zealand, then Thailand and some other countries until September... I'm glad she's coming back though. I had heard earlier that she was going, but heard nothing of a return, so I blocked it from my mind until i had further proof. Too bad this was my first year with her. There isn't too many teachers where you don't mind being in class, but she just makes it enjoyable. She's a very good teacher. Like come on, any teacher who can get me to get over 90% on an essay must be a genious! ^_^

My friend just got his G2 today, so we went out to celebrate. Well, our original plan was to go bowling. Me, being the responsible one, goes on time. But I found out that the place has a regular league going tonight. So I called him, and after a new plan, Mini Putting it was. Well, I had to wait at the bowling alley for like an hour! I didn't mind too much, it was nice quiet time. But the bowlers noticed me, and sort of felt sorry for me. I just laughed it off. So anyways, when he finally got there, it was endless apologees from him, and endless "Awwww..."s from everyone else. Well, Mini Putting was fun, but seemed not as fun as I would have thought. After that, we went to Swiss Chalet for dinner. Just got there by 10:00pm, so we were lucky. LOL A nice dinner, and then it was off to MacDonalds for a nice McFlurry! Mmmm... dessert! Next we dropped off a few friends, and continued on to Tim Hortons for some nice warm drinks, it was getting cold. Then I was like the last to be dropped off, which I didn't mind at all. Actually, I had rathered it. Now I'm here. My dad was a little worried, since my original plan was to be back around 10:30pm, but actually got back about 12:00am. Well, he wasn't really that mad, so I'm fine! ^_^

My friend who was driving, Kevin (yes, same name), is a pretty good driver. It sort of makes me want to really start, since I can now. But I'm still kinda of chicken. Maybe a few more times watching him, and I'll take the wheel soon. ~_^

Wow, I never realized what time it was. Just here, writing in my Journal. I'll write a nice little PM to Sarah as well, just to say goodnight, though when she reads it, it will be a good morning. So I better plan that ahead of time! ^_^

Well, it's still late, and I'm here talking to Vjola, and listening to music. and it's getting later by the second (funny how time works! lol). About 1:00am. Time to go to sleep soon! See ya later!

  • 3 down, 1 to go! 2003-01-27 14:00:47 I did my French and Math exams this morning. But before that...

It was the Super Bowl. Nothing too big happened though. I didn't watch much of it, only the first quarter. Believe it or not, I was actually studying at that time! Ya, I know. I barely do it, and when I do, it's at the worst possible time. Oh well, when you have exams the next day, it becomes mandatory. lol

Guess what? Celine Dion and Shania Twain both preformed at the Super Bowl! Really cool, two Canadian singers. Dion sang "God Bless America" and Twain sang during the halftime, "Man, I feel like a Woman!" and another song. I was disappointed because I thought she was going to sing "Gonna Getcha Good". It's too bad she didn't, but she awesome anyways.

Well, after dinner, I studied for Math, breaking to watch the halftime show. I didn't really study for French, since French is really nothing compared to Math. All French is, is verbes, explinations and reading. Math is the only one I really needed to study for, so that's what I did. I actually went to bed a little earlier, say about 11:30pm! lol But that extra little rest was well used!

This morning I was tired, but that's only because I haven't been used to getting up at 6:00am for a few days now. Had a nice breakfast, and off to school. Usually, my friends and I just hang out in the front lobby and chat, but since this is exam time, it's more of a "wander around until your exam starts". So I dropped off my winter clothes and then went to French. After that, it was off to the Cafeteria to get a snack, and see everone else like me worrying about the Math exam. It was fun. So the exam was next, and it wasn't actually that hard. Though I admit there was a lot of parts I didn't understand, but I was still done way ahead of time. I had enough time to fall asleep, and get woken up when the supervisor told the class there was 15 mins left in the exam! Finished up, came home, made myself some Egg Drop Soup (package, lol), watched the Deleted scenes from Star Wars episode 2 while eating, and now I'm here! ^_^ As a good friend of mine at school would say: Fun, Fun!

  • 3rd time was the charm... 2003-01-24 13:33:07 I went to go get my G1 driver's licence today (learner's). And I did succeed, but it wasn't easy!

Ok, my friend and I both went out to get it this morning. We arrived and got in line. It felt weird just being the two of us. Anyways, he went in line, and everything, but guess what? He failed his eye exam! Even with his glasses, he couldn't see well enough. So I went, and guess what my problem was? I needed my Birth Certificate! I always carry a copy, but I needed the real deal. So I called my mom, and she brought it over and went back to work.

Now I got to try again, and by this time, my friend had taken a taxi to go to work, so I was all alone. I paid and everything and was set to write the test. Well, there are 2 parts or 20 multiple choice questions. 20 on signs, and 20 on rules. You need a minumum of 16 right on each section to pass. I aced the road signs, getting perfect, but 8 wrong on the rules! I was so embarrassed, but I saw a lot of other people failing too, so I was comforted by that fact a little. Well, I brushed up on the book, and re-took the rules part, since that's all I had to do. Well, this time I got 7 wrong! 3 off by the maximum allowed incorrect answers! I was getting really embarrasssed now. And the lady handing out the tests, seemed to want to help me pass. She was nice, and seemed really young, like only a year or something older than me. Though I really doubt it. So I checked the book again, checked what I got wrong and was determined to pass it this time! I wasn't going to leave that government building until I did pass it, even if it took me all day!

Well, like I said, 3rd time's the charm! I only got 2 wrong. ^_^ She looked very happy when she saw I passed. I was happy too. Now I got to go home and have lunch. lol

Everyone was saying how easy it was, well, I didn't think it was that easy. If I had one of those Driver's Handbooks to study off of at home, I may have done better, but I didn't, so I had to rely on instinct, which led me astray 2 times. lol The hardest questions were the number ones, like how much does an accident have to value at before you call the police. The options were 250, 500, 750 and $1000. I chose 500 the first time, and it was really 1000. Like how am I supposed to know that?

Well, it's over, and I have my G1. I'll get my card in the mail in a few weeks! ^_^ That will be so cool. Too bad my friend couldn't get it. He'll have to upgrade his perscription before trying again.

That was my morning. Hope you found it interesting. Well, I really doubt it! lol

  • One down, three to go... 2003-01-23 21:39:19 Well, today I finished my frist of four exams for this semester. This was my English exam. It wasn't too hard, but it was long. I found already after 20 mins, I was behind schedule. The Sight Passage was a little confusing, the most of the Quotes I couldn't remember from our novels, and the essay was probably the most clear cut thing to do. I wrote a whole essay in ˝ an hour. Not exactly very good, but it was done. In total for the whole exam, I probably wrote about 5 pages of Full Scape paper. My fingers were just a little tired, partially because I grip my pencil way too hard. Force of habit... lol

I don't know why I act the way. Exams. I tell myself how important these are, but when it comes down to the moment, I don't have the determination to do anything about it. Studying for example. This is definitely something that someone should learn to do properly. I didn't study for this English exam. Simple as that. I feel horrible about it. I should be giving it my best shot, everytime. But no, I f*cking sitting here and doing other sh*t. Stuff I could do any other time!

    ...

LMAO! Look at this! I'm getting emotional in my own Journal! Phew... time to settle down.

In other news, tomorrow I'm going out and getting my G1 with a friend. We both could have gotten it months ago, but unlike everyone else in our school, we're not as enthusiastic to get our driver's licence. It's not that we don't want to, we're just not in a rush of any sort. lol

***Right now, I'm watching, "The One I Love is" by The_Digital_God. This guy has created 2 music videos, and I love them both. Their both Eva vids. They're both quite emotional. And The_Digital_God is taking a break from AMVs! I only know of these 2 vids he's made, but because of College and Army National Guard, he's retiring for a short period. Hope he comes back soon.

Don't you just love having a dictionnary in a drawer in your desk? I know I do. I musn't be able to focus very well tonight, I've had to make 3 checks already. Licence, Enthusiastic, Emotional. The dictionnary is great for quick reference on those terms I prefer not to get incorrect. But I try not to use it too often. ~_^

I finally got back to posting on other forums other than the org. I'm glad to do so. Luckily all the other ones don't have nearly as many members are the org, so if I don't post too often, I'm not actually too far behind. Quite relieving. ^_^

I still haven't figured out a way to reload Windows ME. 66% through, it keeps giving me this SUWIN error, and the next thing I know, I can no longer finish loading. My computer is still working fine, it's just that I still can't change the resolution to anything else. Some people who I've talked to said to just forget about it, but it's now the principle of the matter. If it's not working, fix it. Am I supposed to just walk away everytime I hit a little bump in the road? No!. lol

My Anime Program is doing awesome. Though I presented it today, it's not exactly due until Monday. Which is good, because I can still load some information on it. I've finished the programming part, it's just the information I need to finish. No big deal. You know what all this has inspired me to do? Put my Pokémon information on a program. I've actually gone to the trouble to type up the first 150 in Excel to have my very own Pokédex for personal use! That took me forever. Now I can make one for the computer! How cool is that! Maybe I'll start after the rest of my exams... ^_^

Well, time to check out the org. Haven't been all day. See you all later! ^_^
