JOURNAL: Anime Jedi

  • Whoa... 2003-04-29 06:44:19 Another thing having to do with the year I was born. The views of my Journal are were when I just checked, 1986... That's crazy! ^_^

    Sarah:
ADD? lol! Sorry to disappoint, but nope. But I can see how it looks like that. It's just I feel everything needs something. Music works perfectly for many things. But I was watching Family Guy last night. Barely any music! But there was enoug dumb things to keep you occupied laughing. lol

  • Stop making so many entries in one day, Kevin! :: slaps himself :: 2003-04-28 21:51:18 Just needed to say that I feel I'm burnt out. Too much stuff to do, and I'm so exhausted...

Now up to 21 boards. Trust me, I'm feeling it.

Everytime I look around, there's another board I haven't posted on in like a week! Jeez, time flies, and this time it's bad!

I'm out for the night. But don't worry, I'll be up again soon, just to start a brand new day...

  • LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!! 2003-04-28 21:29:54 My dad found out that I've been waking up early (well, sometimes) at 6:00am (that's what he thinks, but it's really 5:30am). He says I don't get enough sleep. He reminded me that my body needs 8 hours. I laughed out loud right there! Trying not to be rude, I apologized for the out burst, but said that 8 hours of sleep a day is pushing it, in my life! Maybe sometimes on the weekends I'll get that, but 7 hours is fine for now. Actually, it's a luxury! I consider everything I have a luxury as long as someone in the world has it worst. It really makes you think about how lucky you really are. ^_^

  • Did you know that... 2003-04-28 18:48:24 I bought a movie on the weekend that is older than me by 29 days?!?!

Now that is a shocker! Laputa (Castle in the Sky) was supposedly released Aug 2, 1986. Yup, that's 29 days before the day I was born.

Hmmm... makes me think how impressive anime is that is actually recent!!! If only it wouldn't take so long to bring it over here...

:: shouts out the window ::

Hey! Maybe I should just move to Japan! -_- lol!

Well, all I can say is that, compared to most movies made that long ago, I'm definitely happy with it. ^_^

  • Background music is a must! 2003-04-28 17:20:54 I don't know why, but a show without some sort of background music is much harder to watch, in my opinion. This is a huge thing when it comes to anime, and other animated films/series. Guess that's why I like anime music videos so much. ^_^

This unfortunetely happens all the time when I'm watching new anime to DVD. Sure it's dubbed and all, but if it's so quiet, and all there is, is a few sound effects and the dubbed voices... I lose attention and find myself forcing myself to watch it. This happened with Street Fighter Alpha. I thought it was a pretty good movie, but so many parts I felt bored out of my mind! -_-

I just watched the fist episode of Futurama, and the exact same thing! Great series and all, but talking isn't enough! Lukily it improves as the series goes on. ^_^

This is I enjoy so much all the anime they put on tv. All this anime has music practically the entire time. Digimon, Pokémon, Monster Rancher, Yu-Gi-Oh!... there is barely any silent parts in it, and that keeps me interested, involved and enjoying the whole thing.

Yes, I know silence creates suspense and everything, but there's only so much a person can take. And over doing it makes the viewer take in the presentation in a more analytical fashio. You gaze at every detail, and pay attention to every word. Which is good, you're paying attention, but those things haven't given the amount of depth that one needs to be kept fully entertained.

:: turns on tv, sees commercials are on ::

See! Commercials have got the idea. They've always got either something in the background, like noises or music. And if one is silent, it's fine because it's only for something like 30 seconds or even a minute!!!

Music works so well to get the adrenaline going! It keeps the mind busy, subconsciously! You get so envolved with it! If only more anime would see that... then maybe I'd find myself in love with more of it.

I just noticed that all of my favourite anime has some great background music. It just makes it that much better (Escaflowne, etc...). ~_^
