  • Looks like I've got to say something now! 2003-05-18 18:10:47 All this talk about people going to Anime Central is making me want to talk about where I went this weekend... Oh well, I've lasted pretty long already. As you might have noticed, I only said things like "I went out today" and such before. I didn't want to make a big deal. ^_^

I went to Anime North. My friend drove me there and back both Friday and Saturday. And I realize Anime North is probably much smaller than other conventions, but this was my first time!

    Friday:
We got there, and explored the whole layout. We went to the dealers room, and saw more anime than I've ever layed my eyes on. A lot were just as expensive as regular stores around here, but once in awhile I found a nice deal. didn't buy anything though. We met up with some of our friends from school there, two girls. One dressed up as Merl, with pinkish hair, the tail and ears! The other talked about it, but couldn't find anything to wear. When we talked, they said I should dress up for Saturday. I was a little surprised and had no idea what to say to that. Their suggestions were Gohan (DBZ), Vaughn (Escaflowne) or Squall (FF8). Well, wouldn't you know I had nothing of that kind to wear. I couldn't even do a poor job of it, I had nothing. Well, the girls left early, and my friend and I stayed longer. We checked out some of the screening rooms, watched some of the AMV contest, and looked at the art rooms.

    Saturday:
Having both gotten little sleep, we actually got there pretty early. We hung around, saw the live filming for "The Vortex", on YTV, watched more AMVs and browsed. There was this one girl, who I have no idea who she was dressed up as (probably someone from Final Fantasy), but she looked awesome. She hung around the front lobby, and everyone wanted her picture! We met up with the two girls again (as you can see, I don't like using names. lol) and browsed the dealer's room again. This time, I found a great place with cheap stuff. That's where I got all the anime I talked about yesterday. Then we went to have lunch. Well, the service was so slow, and both the girls HAD to go get the autographs of the Gundam Wing voice actors, they ended up leaving early. No problem, I said we'd meet up later. Well, my friend who was driving me, said that I could either stay with the girls for another 7 hours, or head home with him (he had work). I decided to stick with the girls, but this is where everything collapsed. -_-

When we went to pay for lunch, then said they don't except debit. Well, I didn't have enough cash. Talk about embarrassing! She said she'd let me withdraw money from the closest machine. Well... It didn't work! No money came out! Why? I was trying to take out more than my daily limit. I didn't figure this out yet, so I ran across the street, and tried. No luck. I thought there might be a limit, so I tried less money, and it worked! Ran back, payed for lunch, and went to search for the girls. I had to find them, because there was no way I was sticking around with no idea where they were, and my primary ride already at home. We looked, and looked, but nothing. the line for autographs practically stretched all the way through the hotel! They were nowhere to be found. So I left early. -_- It's a shame, because we were going to check out some more of the screening rooms. Looks like I'll have to wait until next year, and have a good costume too. ~_^

Coolest thing were these 3 fans who dressed up as Clow Cards! They dressed as the power card, rain... and one other. Most unique part was that they carried the back boards bigger than themselves as the card itself. They could barely walk down the hallways without knocking people down! lol Talk about dedication.

  • You're always discovering something new about yourself... 2003-05-18 13:18:26 Well, I just spent all morning cutting the grass of my neighbour's yard. I didn't mind doing it. It's been a little job of mine for the past 4 years. Since it was the first time of the season, it took extra long. I cut it and then used the weed wacker. The grass was really long, so I had quite a bit of trouble. But it's a nice day, so it was enjoyable.

After that, I had lunch. I was all dirty, so I ate in the backyard on the deck. I love being alone, and this was the first time in like 2 months I could enjoy myself alone. But thta was short lived. My dad thinks that having someone around is always better than being alone, so he sits down beside me with the comment "I'll save you from having to sit all by yourself". -_- I would have much rathered to be alone, because I can't concentrate on relaxing. My problem you say? Well, if I really did try, I'd be ignoring him, and that would be quite rude.

And I found something new about myself today, that I really do need to relax completely once in awhile. I don't mean get a good night's sleep, or do something that's fun. I mean something where you relax, but your mind is happy, not bored. Something that's pleasurable. I find that feeling when I'm faced with a beautiful scenery, with lots of blue and green. That's why I love staring at the sky. But it's even better when it's partly cloudy. Not completely blue, and not completely cloudy. And when there's rolling green hills... ^_^ It's one of the only things I can do that will, no matter what, put a smile on my face. Reminds me of Pokémon and Escaflowne...

Why did I say I NEED it? Well, my parents asked if I was tired (at lunch), since I was staring at the sky, I said "Nope, just trying to relax. I haven't for a long time". But what was the real kicker, was when I said it, I was getting all teary eyed. I couldn't understand why! Luckily I was wearing shades, so they didn't notice. Well, I couldn't believe this, so I tested myself right there again. I started thinking about how much I love the sky and days like this, and it happened again! It's like a subconscious urning for something. Something that was always hidden from yourself! Though I couldn't enjoy it much longer, because of my homework, I now know a little bit more about myself...

  • Downhill like a ski hill? 2003-05-18 00:10:43 I just saw the first episode of BeyBlade V Force, and may I just say "What in the world?!?!".

It's a year later, and everyone looks 5 years younger? How about the bey battles! Computer generated? Well, the blades do practically nothing. I'm not sure if they're trying to make it look like a more realistic battle, but you can't start doing stuff like this after what they did the in the first season. I am in total awe. Now it's like the voices are way too old for the actors. It just doesn't fit anymore... -_-

  • I'm exhausted (as usual)... 2003-05-17 20:34:00 Geez, there's a lot of newly added vids to the list "Top All-Time Star Scale". Though I'm sure once a few more people download them, there will be a few of them who will give the vids average scores, so the total will go down. Tough luck.

I'm dead tired right now. It's only 9:22pm. I got home at about 4:00pm. I was hoping to stay out until 11:00pm, but I couldn't find my friends (because they would drive me home if I stayed out longer), so I just got a ride home with my friend that had to leave. I can't imagine how I'd be I stayed another 7 hours... o_0 Though I'm sure I wouldn't act tired, because I'd be with 2 really nice girls. I'd hate to be the one who ruined their fun by slowing them down. lol But I still wish I had found them. I'm sure we would have had an awesome time. ^_^

I got some new anime! I got Street Fighter: Alpha (an average movie), Sakura Wars, Shadow Skill, Tenchi Forever and Tenchi The Movie 2 (The Daughter of Darkness). All five for $100. Not bad at all. Considering most would have been $35 - $45 each. I'm starting to have a half decent anime collection. ^_^

Did you know I only have 4 non-anime DVDs and one set? Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Spider-Man, Tomb Raider and the first season of Futurama. Maybe I'll buy a few more when I get some cash.

Have I mentionned I'm dead when it comes to my Physics Project? -_-

I taped a whole bunch of new shows today... now when will I find the time to watch it all? -_-

  • I'm back! 2003-05-16 22:45:37 Well, that was fun. ^_^ Tiring, but fun. I'll be gone most of tomorrow for the same reason, just to let you all know. That's all I can say for now.

Another of my banner's won. ^_^ At least this one was a little more deserving, 106 votes. That's a confidence booster. All I need to do now is try some new stuff, and I'll have made a real nice banner.

I gone late, so I only got to eat at 11:00pm. My friend and I ate at McDonald's. It was ok, because it was fast, but we got there just before they were closing. So after a bit, they said we had to leave. Oh well, I scarfed the rest of the food down and he dropped me off at home. We need our rest for tomorrow morning!

My contacts are really drying out. I think I should go to bed soon.

    Nighty night.
