People say Boards of Canada sold out because they are putting a song to a BMW commercial and now those people have lost respect for the band. I say, GOOD! Loose respect for them, stop listening to them, you idiots. You probably don't deserve to listen to their music anyway. Boards of Canada has to be one of the greatest bands I've ever heard. I love them, and putting a song on a commercial doesn't justify "selling out". Anyone remember Rob Dougan (Rob D. for all you people who don't know his real name) who put a song on the Matrix Soundtrack and had it appear on a car commercial as well? Does anyone know anything else by him or ever hear from him at all in the mainstream musical world? Didn't think so. Because he didn't sell out, but, amazingly enough, he still has his song "Clubbed to Death" on two very mainstream things. Even if BoC did sell out, as long as they made their music with the same emotion, the same feeling, and didn't do it merely for the pieces of paper that run modern day society. -
