Why doesn't somebody TELL me these things?
2002-05-29 15:18:02
So my Titan AE vid had sound problens, and just now somebody tells me. NOW, that I'm at home and on 56k. :P About four hours left... no. Can't upload it now. I'm expecting calls from potential employers for the summer. In fact, I'd better get off the 'net NOW.

EK: I doubt you're reading this, but I have Weezer's new album, and that song isn't on it.
Dammit, my new versions of Pain for Pleasure had dependency problems. They're fixed now, I hope.

w00t!

ErMaC: No day in which you play DDR is a wasted day.
Anyway, I hereby declare myself... sick. A head cold, I guess. Nose all stuffy, mild coughing, and a general I've-just-been-hit-with-a-brick feeling. Odd thing is that I was having odd stomach cramps last night... I wonder if they're related somehow. So anyway, I've been popping generic-brand Ricolas and chugging generic-brand Sprite... I don't know why, but whenever I had a cold at home, my mom always made me drink lemon-lime soda. I don't know what in lemon-lime soda is supposed to cure a cold, but... Mom knows best, I guess. (But I'm still pissed at her - and Kevin, my stepdad - for buying a new Ford Explorer, and then cutting back on helping me pay for college. That's some f-ed up priorities right there...)
No thanks to klinky and the other PC weenies in the Video Help forum, I've figured out how to crop out letterboxing. Now both versions of "Planet Bob" are about half the filesize, yet with better image quality! (Hence the "w00t!" above!) Here's where I learned how:

Eek, what an ugly URL. Hopefully it works.
I wish that just five percent of the people who have downloaded my works so far had reviewed 'em... I would really dig some suggestions and comments. So far I've only got one each for two of my three vids. What's up with that? I review nearly everything I download from here...

First, I watch teh cartoons. Then I make teh AMV. Then teh ppl dl teh AMV. Then tehy r supposed 2 r8 teh AMV. But ppl dl teh AMV and no r8 teh AMV. So I no get teh suggestions on how 2 improve for teh my next project. It is teh frustrating.
...Anyway, Macintosh... The Naked Truth I thought was a bit weak on the whole - and I really disliked that "quiz" that made all Mac users look like a bunch of granola-eatin' VW-Beetle-drivin' neo-hippies.
My last English final is done. Just gotta print it out and turn it in tomorrow. Serious w00t4g3.

Money was burning a hole in my pocket...

So I went out to see what I could blow it on.
First: Macintosh... The Naked Truth, a new Mac book by Scott Kelby. It focuses on what it's like to be a Mac fanatic in a world full of rude PC users who still just don't get it. I've read the first three chapters, and I've found it really good so far.
Battle Angel Alita: I've been looking around for a long time for the first ish in this series, and now I've finally found it. I've borrowed the two-episode OAV from my friend a couple of times and have really dug it; so far, the comic is proving to be just as good, if not better, and even more violent. It's not for those with weak stomachs.
Maladroit, the new album by Weezer. I've liked Weezer's stuff off and on for a couple of years, so when I found this for only $13 I decided to take the plunge and buy my first Weez album. Unfortunately, there doesn't really seem to be anything that stands out on this one; no Sweater or Hash Pipe or Holiday... Hmm well. I'll keep listening to it for a while.
Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade. It looks really cool, and I've heard some cool things about it. I haven't seen it yet though; I'm too busy tonight, what with a final paper and Adult Swim Action and all that. :) But I'll see it (and maybe even have a review for it on AnRe) tomorrow if I can finish that final without having a mental breakdown.
