Feels Like Christmas...
2002-11-21 01:26:17
I'm still getting used to the new look around here...it's nice, but it messes with my motor memory every so often.
I haven't made any further progress on the Kurogane Communication video, likely because I haven't spent any time working on it this past week. I still intend to finish it, though, and I'll probably attend to that task once my workload diminishes following Thanksgiving. I did spend some time tinkering with the Kare Kano video that I had put on hold...right now, I'm guessing it's going to become a long-term project, but I'm really excited about continuing working on it. If I can get the rest of the video to continue to flow as well as it has so far, and if I can do the things I'm planning to do once the footage becomes available, it'll be one hell of a video. It might make for a worthwhile Otakon or AWA entry next year.
Anyway...
Being so busy, I had fallen behind with anime-watching, but I've caught up with my small DVD backlog and fansub backlog the past few days. Tonight, I found myself in the mood to watch the Love Hina Christmas special...I'm not a rabid Love Hina fan, but I really do like the show (and the manga), and I LOVE the Christmas special. There are times when the Love Hina TV series really clicks, and the Christmas special is probably the best example. It's Love Hina at its finest.
And speaking of Christmas, I shelved the idea for a Christmas video due to lack of time, but maybe I'll be hit with inspiration sometime soon and churn something out in short time. I have a couple of fairly light weeks following Thanksgiving before I leave for Hawaii, so editing time will be more plentiful. We shall see...

Arrgh... (ok, I'm too tired and lazy to think of a worthy title)
2002-11-14 01:15:09
Still chugging along...the Kurogane Communication video is about 70% done. Of that remaining, 20% is finishing up the introduction and ending, and 10% is finishing up a fairly important section that has been nothing but a headache so far.
Once I complete that section, though, it won't be long before I can finish the bulk of the editing. Then it's a matter of going back through to add more effects (if necessary) and fine-tuning things. It's a good video so far, so I want to finish it - even if that one section ends up not being 100% perfect.
Unfortunately, I won't have much time at all to edit the next few days. Then again, that might give me more time to find a solution to my problem.
On a side note, I noticed there aren't any Kurogane Communication videos in the database as of yet. That's actually a little surprising.

Video progress...

Making unusually rapid progress on the Kurogane Communication video...about 40% done timewise, 30% done effortwise, although there are plenty of rough spots.

Boat Song
2002-11-08 17:57:48
You know, I've always wanted to do a Kurogane Communication video, and now I've finally found the song. It'll be a slow video, so the editing process will be a bit more fun (I prefer editing slow videos...less frustration and work), and the lyrics for the song are simply perfect for the series, making the conception process much easier. Time to start ripping DVDs!

Accidents Suck
2002-11-06 19:39:20
Ack...so much going on.
I finally got a repair estimate for the Jeep: $10,000.
I might just take the money from the insurance company and then have the Jeep sold to someone who would be willing to repair it, and wipe my hands of the whole thing. If all goes well, I should be able to get enough to pay off the $22,000 left owed on it, and perhaps get a little extra to put down on a replacement.
Accidents suck.
Oh, and obviously, I didn't get the Sakura no Yume remaster done in time for the CSUN contest. I guess I'll push it to another contest...maybe Sakura-Con.
