Brainstorming
2003-01-24 15:16:20
Now that I have Vol. 3 of His & Her Circumstances, I think I have enough footage to continue editing on "His & Her Needs", my big project for the year. But, after finishing "Haruka's Song" and remastering "Sakura no Yume", I'm a little burnt out on heavy drama, and find myself wanting to do something a little more straight-forward.
I actually have an idea for a Strawberry Eggs video, which is good since Strawberry Eggs hasn't gotten much play in the AMV world (hey, I like to use forgotten shows). Oddly enough, there's already an entry in the database involving the song + anime combination I'm thinking of here - never expected that - but, the video doesn't seem to exist in any form, as far as I can tell. It's the only video in the catalog for that creator, and there's no information about the video itself, so I'm guessing it's just one of those "Hey, I've got a cool idea for a video, so I'm going to enter it in the database even though I haven't even thought to start editing yet..." sort of things. So, I'm not going to let it deter me from moving forward on the idea.
I'm going to aim for a feel similar to "After the Rain", so it should be a little more fun to edit than dramafests like "Haruka's Song" and "Sakura no Yume".

Sakura no Yume REMASTERED
2003-01-18 16:00:56
"Sakura no Yume" premiered nearly a year ago, but I've finally gotten around to doing a much needed remaster of the video. The new and improved version is available for download:

The video quality is vastly improved, and the choppy framerate problems that plagued the original version are now gone. Colors are more vibrant, and I fixed a couple of effects that weren't as clean as I intended. There's only one small content change, but it doesn't really affect much - basically, I chopped off the short epilogue scene from the very end of the video. I always thought it was rather unnecessary and ruined the feel of the ending.
So, if you've downloaded the video in the past and keep it in your rotation, you'll definitely want to grab the new version.

UNT

Rubyeye: At one time, UNT had more computers per student than any other school in the state. They had a pretty extensive campus network, but it took them forever to get high-speed internet access in the dorms. I remember going down to A&M to visit a friend, where he had blazing fast ethernet in his dorm room, and then returning to my dorm room at UNT, where I was still stuck on dial-up. They didn't start installing the lines until after I moved out (back in 1998, I think).

Yawn...

No news on the Ohayocon contest results yet...
While poking around some of the more unusual MP3s I have on my hard drive, I stumbled upon something so weird that I simply have to use it as audio for a short video. In fact, it should be perfect for AD's Minivid project.
I'll get to work tonight.

Coincidence

I just noticed that "Haruka's Song" was released exactly a month ago (to the day) and makes its convention premiere tonight at Ohayocon. Interesting timing.
