Ah, Spring...
2003-03-31 21:19:26
Animecentral submission deadline is slowly approaching. I've already decided to submit "Forever and Before", so I should probably get the disc in the mail before I screw around and forget.
I see the Anime Expo deadline is coming up, too. I don't have anything new for AE, so I'll probably send "Haruka's Song"...not because I think it can win anything, but rather because I think it's a video that deserves to be shown in front of a large audience (provided it can make the cut).
Anyway, gradually brainstorming on a new video idea...I might finally get to work on it later this week.

Indirect downloads are back up now.

Dangling Carrot

Just three more days, and downloads will be available again. I might throw the switch a day early, but haven't decided yet.
For those of you with Dangling Carrot access, however, local downloads are available. Speaking of which, Phade has set up a great system - after working out a few initial kinks, I found the upload process to be fairly simple, and even though I've only downloaded a couple of videos so far, the transfers have been relatively quick and reliable.

No more downloads...for now
2003-03-11 12:34:03
As expected, I had to kill video downloads yesterday. They should be back by the end of next week, however. Since it's temporary, I just left the video links here at the .org as is, posting notices in as many places as possible to warn people that the downloads won't actually work for the time being. No link problem reports have been filed yet, so perhaps people actually DO pay attention. So far, at least.
With the Golden Donut inching closer, I'm hoping this will be both the first and the last time I have to do this.

Geez...

Hmm...it looks like March will be the first month I'll have to kill video downloads for awhile, as the release of Forever and Before a few days ago has resulted in a lot of used bandwidth. My host sent me a "heads up" e-mail today, warning me that, if my daily usage continues at its current rate, I'll owe them an extra $415 when all is said done.
Of course, downloads should start dying down soon, and I'll no doubt kill the downloads completely before it gets anywhere near the point of costing me excessive amounts of money. Of course, I'll have to make sure to budget bandwidth for non-video related stuff...I've had the videos up for download so long now, though, that I've forgotten how much I move on a daily basis otherwise. Time to pull out the archived reports and figure it out, I guess...
