Back in the swing of things...

Thank goodness for Spring Break!
I just finished a new video this afternoon, and it should be available later this evening (the final MPEG is encoding at this very moment). Cardcaptor Sakura fans should be pleased...

No Need For A Rubber Mallet
2002-03-06 03:12:36
I finally began a new project a couple of days ago. I'll go ahead and let the cat out of the bag by saying it's a trailer for Tenchi Muyo in Love. Whether or not it's ever finished, I can't say.
While I have my plans for the video laid out from beginning to end, there's one brief section that I'm never quite satisfied with, preventing me from moving forward. It's a difficult part. I've tried various approaches, but none have done the trick yet.
I've even thrown in the towel a couple of times, only to come back later and try something else. It doesn't help matters that Premiere is being more troublesome than usual.
I might just skip ahead and finish out the video to the end and then come back to that pesky section when I have more motivation to finish. Perhaps by then I'll have figured it out.

First Entry and Initial Thoughts
2002-02-22 00:39:25
My first video (<a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/video.php?v=6195">After the Rain</a>) premiered a week ago and has already seen well over 100 downloads here alone. I'll admit that I was quite surprised by the response. I guess there are more To Heart fans out there than I expected.
Unfortunately, the unexpected response resulted in some unexpected bandwidth issues, meaning I had to get an FTP server up and running here at home far sooner than anticipated. Everything's fine now, but I was racing against the clock to see if I could get the server up before exceeding my hosting provider's bandwidth allotment. Sure, I could have taken down the video temporarily if things got out of hand, but I wanted to make the transition as seamless as possible.
Luckily, I pulled it off, and all is working nicely for the time being.
I thoroughly enjoyed editing "After the Rain", and I'm sure I'll be creating more videos in the future. Right now, I'm working through the conceptual phase of two separate projects, one for Evangelion (hey, I have to do an NGE video...it's written in law), and the other for Battle Athletes Victory. I'm still not sure which I'll be tackling first. Both should be projects of the same scope technically, so it'll probably come down to which one I'm more in the mood to do when the free time finally presents itself.
I want to round out this first post by saying "Thanks" to all the other AMV creators who've inspired me to get involved myself. I was in need of a new creative outlet, and I think I've found it.
