JOURNAL: SarahtheBoring (Sarah B')

  • Still alive. 2006-10-05 19:20:30 The goal is to finish Fluffy Video That No One But Me Will Watch riiiiight at the end of October, after a healthy round of tweaking and refining. That way I won't lose my train of video-based thought during Nanowrimo. *thumbs-up*

That's where I'll be during November. Yeeha.
  • 2006-09-26 22:43:39 Oh shit, I just said that, didn't I. "People who don't base their whole lives around" yyyeahohcrap.

Heheh whoops. Yeah, it's not like that! I am considering a newbies' party for my RL homies who are thinking about making videos and I did totally ramble about lipsync after dinner today, but then he was rambling about cosplay and "Heroes" and WE'RE DORKS, IT'S WHAT WE DO.

    ...

    ...

...yes, I'm a big shiny hypocrite, I'm very sorry. XD

Happy Video continues. Actually, the timeline is about 95% full; I'm just not entirely happy with all of the clip choice, so I am going to continue looking. 'Sides, the more distance I can put between the AWA Deluge of Awesomeness and my sad little footnote, the better. Learned that lesson with the last live-action vid I made. ;)

  • *sigh* 2006-09-24 18:26:20 I am curious about why the forum doesn't have those garbled-image/sound tests to confirm that new users are humans and not spambots, but I can't remember what the damn things are called. Which makes me look incredibly intelligent, boy howdy. XD

  • 2006-09-21 18:13:21 The "home away from home" for my AMVs at You Know Where is going okay. Not much upkeep. Their message system seems to be buggy as hell, though.

Though I have to admit it still chaps my ass when other people upload my stuff and get commented and favorited right and left, but mine go completely unnoticed. -_-; Argh! I suppose that's a life lesson, right there. Heh.

  • Titles 2006-09-19 23:54:32 That was a neat discussion. I didn't want to ramble about my own stuff, though. That's what journals are for. ;P

One Psychological Drama After Another... (2002)
Line of the song. And the theme. It's the line that the title comes from - "Drama!" is never actually by itself in the song - so this kinda close to "name the video after the song."

    Sea of Stars (Remake) (2002)
STAR OCEAN OMGLOL. Two reasons: this video had no central theme other than "oo, pretty, oo, relaxing", and the two most striking images were space and the ocean.

I Always Cheered for the Villains (2002)
Theme. Not literally true, btw. Only sometimes. ^_~

    Fate and Frustration (2002)
Alliteration + two central issues in Ashton's life.

    Like a Burning Star (2003)
Line of the song that is not the title. (Love, we shine like a burning star falling from the skyyyyyy... toooooniiiiiiiight...) Refers to the meteoric fall of the BRDs.

    Imaginary World (2003)
Combo of the song and the theme. "This is my world and I am the world leader pretend", plus the character's duel song (I Am an Imaginary Living Body).

Dance of Wind and Rain (2003)
Paraphrase of two non-title lines of the song. (Dance to the sound of the wind / the dance is to the rhythm of rain) Also shored up the double-character-profile aspect of the piece.

    Life in Death (2003)
Random thematic phrase. Just about everyone in this series is dead, and the video is about finding a little bit of hope. Even, in this case, after death.

    Divergence (My World) (2003)
Divergence is what the video is about - Vash and Knives growing apart. (My World) is from the song, to reinforce that part of the song. It's tied to Knives' POV in the video, and I wanted to show it up a bit to balance things out a little. IMO this is my clumsiest title.

    The Clouded Heart (2004)
Non-title line of song. Refers to Juri and her denial, pretty much.

    My Own True Love (2004)
Thematic phrase. Technically it should be "His Own True Love," but it's about egomania (among other things), so "My" made sense to me.

    Danse Macabre (2004)
Swiped the title of an entirely unrelated piece of music. The working title was "Sex and Violins," which is silly. It's a trailer/recruiter/summary vid, so it was too broad to get a good handle on.

    The Acceptance Speech (2004)
Shameless pun. It was called this from the start, IIRC.

    Like Me (2004)
I polled for ideas and then mangled the one I liked best. Sorry! (If I got to retitle it, I'd probably call it Teenage Angst. Because the idea of an AzuDaioh video called Teenage Angst is so odd, and that is exactly what I was going for.)

Project REM Sleep: The Great Beyond (2005)
    Name of song :|

    Not Breaking the Habit (2005)
Pun based on a song that used to be popular for AMVs. And it makes light of addiction. I'm going to hell. Whee!

    We Believe (2006)
Drawn from a non-title line of the song; thematic

    Papaduwa Papapalapa (2006)
Intentionally bizarre crunching of the anime's OP and a non-title line of the song.

The Prince and the Kappa (2006)
Two main characters. And a bad literary pun, because as far as I know in my gaijin dorkness, "kappa" almost rhymes with "pauper."

    Back to Light (2006)
Title sucks almost as much as the video does! :P I gave up making this video good and just kept it simple. Hence, down from Heavy (in DDR) back to Light. Also, it's optimistic.

Upcoming working titles: Pass It On, Ourselves and Everyone We Know, My Name Is Pink Canary, Shinji's Rockin' Angst Party. I seem to be heading for a long-title phase. :)

The end! I'm procrastinating, does it show?
