JOURNAL: SarahtheBoring (Sarah B')

  • This space intentionally left blank 2003-10-17 18:28:59 This just in: I suck at titles.

I know it's completely possible to work on a vid and name it once it's done, but I tend to feel better having a name for a project before it's finished - or before it's started. Even if it gets changed somewhere along the way, I like to call it *something.* If for no other reason that I think it can help nail down a concept, or see if you HAVE a concept to begin with.

But I have no idea what to call the vid I'm starting this week. I could go the same route as LaBS, *againnnnn*, and pull a song lyric that is not the title but embodies one of the main concepts of the piece.

But I've done that at least once, and I fear it's kinda lame. X_x

Meh... oh well. Back to doing org searches of my possible titles to see if they've already been used.
  • 2003-10-15 19:38:52 Aaaahaha!

The troll who was bashing MJ & Tutter has been IMing me under a series of usernames - like, four so far - bitching about how I called him (?) a troll.

And now it turns out that he doesn't even know what a troll, in common internet parlance, IS.

So basically he's bitching about something he doesn't even understand.

    GOOD JOB.

  • 2003-10-14 21:07:57 You know, I think I've decided on it sooner after all. It's not that difficult technically, and I can probably swing the purchases. *nods* The song has been done twice before, so mmph bad, but it's a concept that I really like - it's more "I really want to make this" than "This is going to be ground-breakingly fantabulous!"

I really want to make this.

It's not going to be ground-breakingly fantabulous.

    But I don't care.

Of course, I have a half-finished vid sitting on my HDD awaiting the return of my storage drive (which, barring catastrophe, will be Thursday). But the order isn't that important, really. They'll probably both get made by year's end.

Whee~. Now I have crap to buy. Luckily I do have some money. Whee~, money.

  • Hear me talk, but never speak 2003-10-14 18:54:31 Someday I hope I can do a New Order video. Rather, I hope I can do a New Order video without getting flamed off the face of the planet. Most AMVers, if not all, know about them from an Aluminum vid, so it's rather dangerous to tread there.

Their stuff is *so* *good*, though. Auuugh. I'm listening to "World" and "Regret" a lot lately - I fell in love with both of those songs as a teenager, hearing them on the weekly not-quite-so-mainstream hour on the radio. (Kinda funny. It was a top 40 station, since there was no alternative station at the time - we're talking 1993 here, thereabouts. Once a week they'd play, like, Smashing Pumpkins and Weezer and the Offspring, i.e. stuff that's completely mainstream now, but you wouldn't hear on a top-40 station back in the days of, say, En Vogue. That lame little hour introduced me to allll kinds of stuff that I wouldn't be listening to today otherwise. I used to leave on my tape deck and record, and rewind to tape over a song if I found that I didn't like it. ...I know I'm dating myself. S'okay.)

Where was I? Oh. New Order = yay.

I don't think I could really handle "Regret" - that'd probably be best suited to one of the more old-school anime with a realistic love story, like KOR or something like that, and I know little about that whole area of anime. "World," though - someone with a good sense of style (i.e. not me) could make one kickass angst-machine 80s-retro video with "World."

    Sigh.

Though hey, I decided on a really likely concept for a future vid that has no homoerotic undertones, overtones, or tones of any kind! I knew I could do it! ;D It's far off - I have to buy the CD for it as well as more source - and it bears a strong resemblance thematically to "Life in Death," but I like the idea quite a bit.

It's behind two definites and one possible in the queue, though, so I'm not holding my breath.

One month till the rest of SKU is out on DVD! One! Month! Slightly less than a month. 11/11/2003. *headdesk*

Maybe I'll buy it and not allow myself to watch it so I finish my Nanowrimo story...buuuut...there's not much chance of that, frankly. Normally they last as long as it takes to get the wrapping off and possibly make some popcorn. :P

Well, I managed to finish my story last year *while* making "Fate and Frustration," if memory serves, so I can survive this year while cooking up video ideas.

    My comp will be fixed on Thursday. THANKFULLY. Unfortunately I have to pay for this with having to spend an evening with my dad, but meh. At least I don't have to give him the whole machine and have him snoop through my history/files/whatever. -_-;

    Happy thoughts!

My grandmother picked out my Christmas gifts from my Amazon wish list. Welcome to the 21st century. ;D

  • 2003-10-13 20:17:29 *sighs*

Guys? Do I PM you all? Do I message you on AIM to pester you? Do I go to AWA and bother you?

    I don't. Ever.

People who have no idea who the hell I am are crashing my LJ to tell me off. It's getting a bit tiring, and the whole thing is kind of pointless anyway.

I just want to be left alone. So if you want to crash random nobodies' websites, please move on? Please? I'm going through kind of a rough couple of days for other reasons, and I don't need a virtual flash mob on top of it.

Please. I know I can't demand anything, so it's a simple request. Please leave me alone. I don't know what I did to deserve this - getting angry at one comment? I'm not allowed to get angry, or a pack of random people crashes my space and starts telling me off? When did this rule go into effect?

*shakes head* anyway, please go away. I don't know what I did wrong, but whatever, I'm sorry.
