  • I gotta go my doctor about this itchy pentagram-shaped rash 2003-10-24 18:56:52 BNL has a new album out? Why didn't anyone tell me?! ;P

This is what I get for dropping out of the fandom. Oh well. I'll stick it on my wishlist.

The clerk told me when I went to buy their best-of, because I hadn't heard the new tunes and most of my older BNL CDs are scratched to hell. I just went with what I had, though they were probably hinting for me to buy both. (Hah!)

It's a fine collection, IMO, and the liner notes have comments about the writing of each of the songs - I like that. The new tunes are pretty good, on the whole. And I can't stop listening to "Get In Line." XD (Somebody has vidded it, but it's not up for download. And no, don't worry; I'm not going to use it. I haven't the foggiest idea what I'd use.)

  • 2003-10-24 09:43:17 Awww. There are no Pulp videos at all. I guess everyone outside the UK hasn't heard of them, and everyone inside the UK is sick of them.

    Heh.

I think a couple of their songs (Common People, Disco 2000, A Little Soul) are on my to-watch-for list, but I've been bunnyless for the most part.

Have taken the next leap in nerdness and made a spreadsheet with all the eps of the series I have and what happens in them - not minute by minute, but points of particular interest (ex. for the Utena eps, what all of the duels are and any outside-duel scenes of interest). For the movies I'll make lists of what scenes are on which VOBs, so I don't have to rip the ones I don't need.

I remember some eps right off, the way most vidders do, but only a few, and usually only the ones I've already worked with in videos. Even then, I think those are fading a bit. My head is already full of random music trivia, so I don't think this sticks. ;)

In other words, I don't have the memory of an AMVer, so I cheat. ;D

  • 2003-10-20 21:11:48 At the medium-early stage of editing in which the vid song is in my head ALL THE DAMN TIME.

    *cries*

    To work.

  • 2003-10-20 06:10:57 Whew! My vid wasn't played at the con because of technical glitches or something.

    THANK GOODNESS.

I am relieved. Whoa, I've gotta go and take it off the video's listing then.

  • 2003-10-20 00:11:44 Since I have technically four unfinished projects going, some of which may end up to be merely messing around, I'm going to have to figure out a different system of pre-release nomenclature than "Video #." Even giving them letters isn't working out so well - hell, "Life in Death" is 8b, and 8a isn't even close to being done, if it ever will be done at all.

    Hm.

This is something only I care about, but I felt like rambling about it anyway.

Made the first test export of Video#?, ModeratelyIntrospectiveCharacterProfileVid. That first export feels good, doesn't it? Even if 90% of it is a black screen, and half the clips that are on probably need to be moved. It's exciting to me to have an idea that was heretofore only in my head start to take shape.

Oddly enough, the first clip I laid in this one was the very last shot. I don't know if it will work, ultimately, but it was unusual for me to work backwards like that.

...well, apart from my habit of making the end title card BEFORE the video is even started...

    ---

Wish me luck with Yaoicon, retroactively. I don't know if they got my submission properly, but if so, yesterday (well, two days ago technically - cripes, I should get to sleep) would have been my first con showing ever. :)

It doesn't really count, since I only got in because of technical difficulties, but I'd still like to hear what else was in it and all.

    *waits for trickles of news*
