Somebody who's got me on their LJ friends list is gossiping about me behind my back. And I don't know who it is.
This ... disappoints and annoys me like you wouldn't believe. Are we all eight years old? Come on.
It's happened before, too. People who have no idea who I am have jumped onto my journal to carp at me for whatever the complaint of the day is. I can only assume that somebody on the list is pushing them there, because how would they find it otherwise? They don't even know who the hell I am.
Fucking depressing is what it is. I thought I knew a lot of decent people in this community, but I guess it's a lot minus one, at least.
If whoever it is would own up to it, I would call the issue closed without comment.
This is... really disappointing and sad. -

Ahghh, what the fuck?
This makes me laugh... *Iiiiii* think I've improved, but being in the same category as DW and Arigatomyna is just insulting to them. Even so, that's... ... ...novel.
I half want to put up my last vid from last year to demonstrate what I'm talking about. Not local, o'course, on my space.
I think I'll do that.
(Granted, I still suck, but I suck with much more panache than I did at the end of 2002.)

Sometimes I think I should give up and make even *more* obvious pandering vids with exactly what people expect; maybe then I'll stop being criticized.
I mean, I don't go out of the box, *at all*, and I get bashed every time I do something that people don't expect. My Trigun vid got bitched out because it wasn't violent enough (or at all, actually), and I got a review - otherwise reasonable - bitching that my Utena Movie vid didn't show Anthy and Utena making out.
Well... excuse me for doing what I want and not being exactly the same as every other vid under the sun. Christ. Those vids went in those directions because that's what I wanted to do - I wanted to do a slow little Trigun vid, and I wanted to make an Utena Movie vid without what is apparently the only shot in the entire series or movie that anybody gives a fuck about. But OMG NO, MUST FOLLOW EXPECTATIONS ALWAYS OR IT IS WRONG.
It must be a kind of gray area - people who totally shatter expectations get nothing but praise, but apparently it's a bad thing to try one or two things that are a little outside the norm.
Fuck public opinion... I'm grateful for everyone's feedback, but I'm a little frustrated for being told "You suck because you didn't make the vid *I* wanted to see." I'm sorry, was I doing a commission for you? I thought this was my vid. My mistake.
I think this is all amazingly ironic, as well, given that I am an immensely mediocre and middle-of-the-road editor. I don't work outside the box, because I'm not that creative. I do 99% exactly the same as every other vid on the street, and I get flak for the remaining 1%.
Very frustrating. Does kind of make me keen to finish something that will really annoy people, and entertain the hell out of me.
