Yes, I did just do something very ill-advised. I believe what I said, but doesn't change the fact that speaking up was moronic. I'm in a weird mood tonight. A calm sort of fuck-it-all, I-don't-care-what-happens mood.

Okay, I've got the idea that I'll make and leave off the DB. It was suggested to me that I uncheck the "my vids are all on the DB" box so that I can't get voted in as the fucking joke vote again, y'know, the whole "vote for a cow [literal] for Homecoming Queen" stunt they pulled in the last VCAs. Yeah, it's been done once and that's probably it, but if I know one thing about this crowd it's that it never gets tired of the same fucking jokes over and over. So it could very well happen again. (Without any way to step off the list voluntarily, the easiest way to get out is to take the box-checking exemption.)
So anyway! I didn't want to uncheck the box yet, because it would be lying to say that all my vids aren't in the DB. They are. *However*, if I made a vid and intentionally left it off, I could uncheck and be free of this hardy-fucking-har bullshit without making a liar of myself.
And now I have an idea. Something that would make me happy, but isn't much of a loss if it isn't put on the list. Perfect.
It'll be a while - I've got a to-try slate a mile long at this point, and my HD isn't that big - but it should be done before the next VCAs.

I bought the first Fake manga at Tekkoshocon, and OF COURSE, I like it. Quite a bit. It's funny. And the art isn't as offputting as the clips of the anime I've seen so far. Hm.
Figures.
Makes me ponder, though, on my wholly irritating tastes in anime/manga. I'm about the least feminine thing you can think of that still possesses two X chromosomes, and yet I like the most horribly girly anime. Can't help it, of course - I like what I like - but it's still kind of ironic.
Here's how it is, though - You know how shounen romance anime takes something you wouldn't expect to be liked by that demographic and makes it appeal to them with some kind of spin? There are series that do the same with action. Cute boys with guns, basically. Fake, Weiss Kreuz, Yami no Matsuei, and Gundam Wing too, I guess. Not girly per se, but ... still, somehow, girly.
Hm.
So I guess I'll probably check out the anime eventually. Meh. It's so stereotypical of me, and that annoys me. But eh, it's all only movies in the end. If I'm stereotypical, so be it. I'm stereotypical *and* entertained.

Okay, I have to finish SOMETHING, dammit. My hard drive is full of vobs that are just *sitting there.* This has dragged on long enough, and I have a fun little idea that I'm obsessed with that can't be started till SOMETHING is gotten from all this source already ripped.
So I'm working on my Anthy vid. Yeah, I know, "Deluge" slays every Anthy vid that ever was, six times over. But I've been wanting to do this for a while, and it'd justify having ripped the whole everloving series.
I will drink lots of coffee, and edit, and enjoy editing. And at the end I'll have a nice little package of angst. And that is that.
If I finish my birthday-present-to-myself vid in time, that's good, but if not I'll finish that this summer. I'm going after this one first because it uses more episodes (like... all of them), and so I can clear off more after finishing it. /boringtechnicalbabble
yay T-con tomorrow. I hope we can make the AMV showing; they never did post a schedule, so if the screening on Saturday is in the morning, I won't make it. Am I repeating myself? Damn.
If we do miss it, maybe I can talk the others into letting me burn a couple of CDs of stuff I think they'd like and watching them on the big-screen over at their house. Hey, it's a close second.

Oh! Heh. Just in case anyone stumbles across that last entry and takes it the wrong way. I don't mean I stick out in a good way. ^_^; I'm the chick who isn't hot.
Sis is fairly tall, too (5'10"), aaaand let's see, I think I'll be taking my Otakon bag to lug stuff around - probably turned backwards as usual because I get self-conscious about the gigantic bright logo - but I'll put my until-now-unused Utena pin on it. Will probably wear a gray hoodie. (Hm, I'll be wearing gray, ya *think*?)
That's about all the dead-giveaway details there are. In short: The chick who is not hot. That's me. ^_^
