Collaboration Video is ticking along. I have an editing partner who, unlike me, has a sense of timing! woot!
So anyway, main thing - a week from tomorrow is the Pittsburgh anime convention, Tekkoshocon. http://www.tekkoshocon.com
For the second year in a row, my younger sister and I will have an Artists' Alley table with knickknacky-stuffed-animaly-accessory-ish stuff, mostly teddy bears and pins. I don't think that there are too many AMV editors in Pittsburgh. A few, but most of the contest is out-of-towners. So please introduce yourselves if you see us, for solidarity's sake. ^_^
I entered a video in the contest even though it's never going to make it to finals. A RL friend of mine is still in the learning / newbie / not-releasing-stuff-publicly phase of learning how to make videos, and we both promised to send something in. I'm glad to have kept that promise. And we aren't in the same category - she does drama, I didn't this time - so we don't have bruised egos to worry about. (and I'm selfishly glad that my sweetheart didn't finish a video in time, because we would have been in the same category. ^_^; But I hope it does get done after this.)

First, Collaboration Video. Then, Solo Video To Which I Recently Bought the Source, If It Actually Works, Which I Hope It Will. Plus continuing work on Multi Video. This might give the source series for Brain Eating Mutant Idea enough time to get its ass licensed. Or for the idea to burn itself out. But it has been eating my brain for several months now. Sigh.
Collaboration Video is going smoothly. It's nothing particularly unusual or special; it's just fun to make.
Also, in one of those yay-internet moments, I looked on the org for previous use of SVTWIRBTS,IIAW,WIHIW (see above)'s song and wound up watching none of those videos, but at least four other videos by one of the editors who used it. And then forgot what I was doing in the first place. Heh. -

I am really not good enough for this. At all. I figured they'd KNOW that, being at the helm of an MEP and all, but apparently not. It's a terrible shame. But I will do my best until they realize that and kick me out. It's the only thing I can do.
Really, folks, don't apply to MEPs that are too good for you on a whim. It's not right. -

For a combination of education and fun, I queued up the song I intend to use for Multi-Anime Video, opened Calculator, entered 1+1, and then hit "=" for every beat of the song that I intended to edit on - in other words, made a tentative shot counter, so that I know whether I have even remotely enough footage.
628 edits. That's the estimate. So far I have 84 clips selected from 2 series.
Oh dear. :D
I'm not worried; I went for an unlikely couple of series first, so as to work my way backwards to the series I intend to use most heavily. Seems easier that way, and will fill up my hard drive a little more slowly.
Funfun. Oh, and the encoding for my Tekko submission went okay - I think - so I look forward to losing to all yinz internet people in front of my hometown. ;P
