  • Oops. 2004-06-18 19:46:20 Current Idea #1 has basically already been done with another series. Lesson: Watch eeeeeeeeeeverything if you unwisely choose to use a song that's been done before.

Oh well, no biggie. I hadn't put too much work into it yet, although I did make some spiffy track mattes. :P Chalk it up to practice.

Current Idea #2 is just starting, and I like it pretty well. A third thumps me on the back of the head every so often, but it might be too far out there angst-wise - wait.

    *searches*

ARG, it's been used. Oh... hell. The song of idea #2 has been done before, too, but since it was a just-screwing-around idea from the getgo, that doesn't bother me as much.

I'm having an originality problem these days. ;)

(these days? ever. but especially these days.)

I would be messing around with Trigun again, since my ideas over in that field are clearer and slightly less stale, but I lent my Trigun box set to my cousin in the name of otaku evangelism. This is three parafamily members I've hooked on this series, personally. I have to branch out a bit. (Though I did get some people to watch "Mononoke" back in the day, and though I can't take credit for this, apparently a former roommate is a rather big fan these days. FLCL fan, I've heard. And here I thought "Lain" was too trippy to recommend. Aheheh.)

Okay, enough about evangelism! That's my excuse for why I'm treading water right now. I mean, yeah, I have two giant costume commissions to do, too, and err... I should be working on those instead, but I can't sew in the middle of the night, now can I. Neighbors would kill me.

Thus, still AMVing, and AMVing with second-choice ideas. Hey, at least I'm still not doing SKU vids. :P (I will probably go back to it eventually, but I was getting serious one-trick-pony vibes after five videos almost in a row.)

  • 2004-06-17 20:02:56 X_x Another spam review. I dunno, I wonder if I should ask to have them taken off. That's at least two so far, one on my Clouded Heart vid and one on oh...which was it... Imaginary World. My two small also-ran vids. Yyyyeah like I'm gonna believe THAT brown-nosing BS.

I mean sure, the highest score is clipped off your average, so it doesn't affect anything, but it still kind of annoys me.

    Bleh.

It's Thursday; should I risk making a little coffee to edit on? Only one day of work left in the week. Meh... sure.

  • 2004-06-15 22:12:49 Harder than I thought, but once I actually got a couple of clips down, the glee took over. I wanna pinch its angsty, insane little cheeks. Hee. Of course, there's still a million edits yet to go, but I think I love the idea after all.

Yes, I'd been doubting before I got any clips down. Oh, it'll make sense when it's done.

This also has the worst working title evar, because it amuses me so.

    ---

There are still only two Morcheeba vids on the org, one of which is mine. Tch. The world shouldn't have to wait until I eventually buy the source for that "Part of the Process" idea that's been in my head for two years now. Sigh.

    Okay, less slacking, more editing.
  • 2004-06-14 00:08:54 Harder than I thought. Aheheh. I'll probably keep at it... probably... or switch songs, if I feel lazy. Or maybe I just don't feel in the vidding zone today.

I'm reading this ... it's not a flamewar, more like an ice war - a very frosty back-and-forth between non-anime video makers and viewers, how they don't want to lower themselves to distributing online and how people are "greedy" if they ask an editor to put the videos in a format that more people can see/use. (A vast majority of non-anime videos seem to be distributed on tape or occasionally DVD.) And how it's best to hew to the good old days of two-VCR editing (which many people o'er there still use, apparently) and digitizing is the work of the Devil and wanting to see vids makes you a scrabbling ratbastard etc. etc.

Not to mention that most files that are online are very small (~5MB per video) WMV or RM files, and everybody is happy with that.

...it's like living on another planet.

Seriously though, we have it so easy out here. Sure, I dislike particular members of this community sometimes, but as a whole we have very little to legitimately bitch about.
