  • 2004-08-25 01:22:54 Codename Screechy Mofo will be done within 24 hours, I believe. I am tired tired tired, but I should be able to do the necessary encodes tomorrow, next day at the latest (if I have one of those days in which I fall dead asleep directly after work).

Strangely enough, I got a bunch of work done on it today. I usually don't edit on weekdays, at least not lately. But I happened to surf (does anyone actually say "surf" anymore?) through a community dedicated to the series I'm working with, and that got the fires going.

None of you want to watch this thing, but I should be able to fling it at Yaoicon in irrational despair. :P

  • 2004-08-23 09:51:35 It's inching along, fixing one round of things, then another. Sometimes things look better, sometimes they look worse, but it's slowly coming together. Couple more weekends and it should be wrapped up. It's not that great a video - I'm doing my best with it and all, but it's not very creative - but it'll be nice to have the project wrapped up.

I usually have another idea ready to go - or half started - by the time one is wrapped up. This time I didn't, and it was a little depressing. None of the ideas really grabbed me. I'm getting a little tired of working with the same few sources, I think - I don't own many, so they're all on heavy rotation.

I think, though, that I'll jump ahead a few spots in my expected order and take on another fast one. BLARGH, FAST ONES. But it sounds like fun just now, and I'll be doing a slow one when Gravi is finished being released anyway.

Now to, well... buy a CD and rent a giant pile of source...

  • 2004-08-22 00:51:34 Blargh. Screw the con. Yeah, I hate to leave it to teh h8rz, but it's stressing me out to think that I have to finish this unrhythmed mess in one week.

Put a few hours into it today, though - the timeline is finally filled more or less to my satisfaction. It's just messy. messy, messy. Messy beyond what one week's work could fix, especially when I only seem to be able to edit on late Friday and Saturday nights, while drinking coffee. Specifically.

Oh well, I like watching it, so that's that.

  • 2004-08-16 22:21:11 ...still, the Yaoicon deadline is August 31, and that seems very soon for all the polishing and export and whatnot. Fuck. Besides, this one I'm working on now isn't as good as last year's Yaoicon-able video. Despite the angst it caused me by FAILING MISERABLY, I really do like that one. In retrospect, anyway.

    sigh.

Still, I don't want to leave the contest to the assholes who see it all as a big joke. The con's organizers seem all too happy to turn it over to them, which pisses me off (gee, you think?) - there are a lot of solid editors in this little ghetto (look up WTF Productions and Good Luck Productions, right now), and it pisses me off to think of their work shoved off to the side because some frat-boy miscreant thinks it's all a joke.

Oh great, it's my Civic Duty as a Fangirl to send in a non-fratboy vid, isn't it.

I'll try. Blech. I'll try. If not I'll remaster Life in Death and send it off to its doom AGAIN.

In other I'm Really Tired of the Mainstream news, a longtime online friend of mine is making videos now. ^_^ Hee. Not on the org, but I feel I'm spreading the hobby anyway.
