JOURNAL: SarahtheBoring (Sarah B')

  • 2004-10-27 23:06:09 Timeline's full! Woo-woo!

I'm realizing now that this only took four days to make and there are several things about it that suck! But the song is damn funny and I had fun with it! And I keep writing with exclamation points! Oh no!

Well, if this wraps up fast enough I may pull the usual half-of-all-nighter and get it encoded and up and all. We'll see.
  • we love you, Amazon 2004-10-26 19:32:11 Unfortunately, Ryuichi's 4th-disc screen time existed largely IN MY MIND.

    AUUUGHHH.

There are two usable scenes, at least, maybe three, and the AMV is only a minute and a half long and 60% done.

Still, I hate Imaginary Footage Syndrome.

I got Gravi 4 and OK Computer almost a week before I expected them, though. I am one happy dork. Note, this is the first Radiohead I've ever bought. Ooooh.

    off to prep source now.
  • 2004-10-25 19:17:45 oops. My "idea" had already been done. And decently well, so I'm not complainin'.

Again, waiting on Gravitation 4. Though I could be working on the serious vid, I'm waiting for it anyway.

Found on a site of Japanese idioms:

    Katami ga Semai
a feeling of inferiority or inadequacy

    *sniff* *sniff*

too long for a screenname, though. ;)

  • A star fall, a phone call, it joins all, Synchronicity 2004-10-19 23:47:50 Both Gravitation videos, one humor and one drama, are coming together so painlessly. I'm happy with both, and surprised at how easy they are. I should, y'know, work with different source more often. ;)

I keep forgetting about the manga MV because of it, but that can wait, anyway. Tch. The last Gravi DVD should be in my possession in about two weeks, and the humor video shouldn't take too much longer after that to finish (I've pushed it as far as it can be finished with the first three). Drama will take a bit longer; I want to make sure it's all smoov. It's kind of a floaty song, so all the edges have to be rounded off, y'know?

    ---

As mentioned I'm on a bit of an Utena kick outside AMVing, and I did remember one idea I am not utterly and completely sick of - "Synchronicity I" by the Police. WTF? Well, listen to it and TELL me that is not as close as you get to a duel song in English! I can hear the chorus yelling "SYNCHRONICITY! SYNCHRONICITY! AHHHHH! AM-MO-NITE!"

    ...well, you know.

It's fast as hell, and I'd have to buy the CD again, since I sold it years ago. But wow, an idea that doesn't make me dive under the table at the thought of even ripping SKU again.

...speaking of which, I still have YnM on my hard drive, don't I. Oy. Oh yeah, I was going to do a Muraki video... well... yeah. Source burnout. When I stop seeing the shots and it all kind of blurs together and I feel all "BLEH" at the thought of scanning through each episode again, I have to take a break from that particular source. It happened with SKU, and it's started to happen with YnM. I got a ton of videos out of each, so I'm not upset or anything, but it's a little irritating.

Wellllll then, burning all my half-finished junk onto a disc, and byebye pretty dead boys, until another day.

  • 2004-10-18 00:20:26 I think I'm set for Lirin pics now, although I ended up stumbling across them myself.

Anyway, I feel like the end of "This Is Spinal Tap" right now, when they've failed in the States but are bizarrely popular in Japan. Only replace those with "in the AMV community" and "in an extremely small niche dedicated to minor Utena characters."

The upshot of this little Black Rose Saga revival is my "Burning Star" video getting a direct download.

I am actually excited about this, because I managed to find an old encode which is nearly half the size of the .org version, AND looks just about as good (in some parts it looks better). I had lost track of it or something, which is why the Donut has the um, fairly craptastic 70+MB DivX version. I'm pleased. Does absolutely no good as far as the local version is concerned, but should I ever get the opportunity to switch out one of my Infamous Stupidly Huge Encodes, I have a great alternative.

It's Black Rose Saga Love Week for no apparent reason. Whee.
