JOURNAL: SarahtheBoring (Sarah B')

  • 2004-12-26 21:22:02 Let's see here. + and - would be my general impression of how each one went - better or worse than I would have wanted.

    Not planned ahead of time:
    (+) The Sea
    (+) I Always Cheered...
(-) Fate & Frustration (though, not too bad considering)
(+) Burning Star (had the song match in mind for a year, but didn't plot it out in my head)
    (+) DW&R
    (+) Life in Death
    (-) Divergence (ehhhh... eh.)
(+) Clouded Heart (not a good video, but better than I expected anyway)
    (+) MOTL
    (+) TAS

Planned ahead of time (mentally or verbally):
(-) Psychological Drama (had most of it in mind for, like, two years)
(+) Imaginary World (did a test run the year before and refined the idea in 2003, producing what's here)
(+) Danse Macabre (note, it was only "planned" in sections - case 1, case 2, Muraki, rescue, bonding - and only for a month or two)

And my hard drive and box of AMV CDs are a graveyard of notes for ideas that never made it off the ground. Most notably, my idea that was supposedly my best idea evar! - never made, to this day, even though I tried once and never really felt into it.

    Moral?

I shouldn't plan too much. Not that I should jump right in to everything without thinking, but I shouldn't start plotting it all out in my head. I think I lose something when I do. Make note of song/anime match, *leave it there*, and start with that.

My current one was just a vague idea that the two would go together, and it fell together - more like collapsed together - in about two weeks. Ditto Life in Death, which has gotten more fangirl frothing than anything else I've done. Those came together ON the timeline.

So I should just not think. Evidently I'm not very good at it. ;)
  • oops. 2004-12-19 13:02:36 Two a.m. enthusiasm wound up getting me on a multi-editor project. BAD HACK. BAD.

    http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=42960&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

I really have been meaning to make a video to that song for a long time now; I just never got down to making it, because I still need to buy the CD for it.

I'm a little annoyed with myself for using SKU **AGAIN**, but that really was what I'd intended to use... blah. I'm a one-trick pony, such is life. :/

So this means I have to finish my current project with the quickness.

Should be an interesting project, though. I swore I wouldn't join another MEP because I suck - they're all about effects, I'm effects-dumb - but it's REM. And I love them. Much.

Nervous now. Well, I'll do my best, and if anyone has complaints about me I welcome them.

  • 2004-12-17 23:45:48 Okay, apparently not a troll, just somebody very, very, very new.

I'm cool with very, very, very new, so no prob. Don't worry, I'll try to steer 'em to better videos. ;)
  • 2004-12-17 07:30:44 Trolls are boring... come on, people, I may make bad videos, but I've been making bad videos for going on three years now. And bad editor != generally stupid.

You're going to have to try harder than that to fool/shock me. Mmkay? Mmkay.
  • 2004-11-28 00:22:18 ...oh, and Iron Book is done, so I'm back to editing.

Best of luck to anyone still in the home stretch!

    See you next year:
