If Premiere's insistence on crashing over any moving source and tolerance of stills is some sort of hint that I should get back to that manga MV that I keep putting off, you can kindly go fuck yourself. I'm sure Firefox has an extension for that.

Sooooooo yes, my main editing software is fucked. I could reinstall it, but I'm a little tired of catering to this increasingly buggy pile of code. I'm supposed to get a new OS for Christmas. I am not happy about waiting that long, but then... really that's based on the thought "argh wtf I haven't put out a full-length AMV *ALL YEAR*", and really... that's not a big deal. I wish I had finished something, but I don't have any *obligation* to. I don't have a standard to uphold or anything.
So let's set that thought aside and think about what I WOULD do if I weren't getting constant errors.
Next, next. Next I mean to finish the comedy piece, because it's been half-shelved / half-in-progress for several months, and I've been meaning to do it for two years. After that? I want to do something slow. I'm tired. I know it's more challenging to do fast, and there are two faster ideas pounding at the back of my head, but ARGH.
Candidates:
1 - Deadpan parodyesque thing, audio supersekrit.
2 - Uplifting drama thing, general pop.
3 - SUPER uplifting drama thing, very hard to make but worth it.
4 - Extremely fast upbeat character profile.
5 - Bittersweet trip-hop thing.
6 - Uplifting trip-hop thing [same series - I don't know why my mind keeps associating the two]. I probably shouldn't make both, but we'll see.
And I've entertained the thought of making a full-length "The Great Beyond" video, filling out the short I did for REM Sleep. But damn, dude, I've done enough REM videos, haven't I? One of the above is an REM song too, so if I did both that'd be four. Out of a catalog of about 17, at that point. Meh.
I want to make #2 really badly, though. And it wouldn't be that hard. Not challenging myself, particularly because the song/anime match is DUH, but I can try to make the *best* easy and obvious video I can. Well-made fluff.
...damn. Damn! I think I just talked myself into #2. I don't even own the CD yet. By Saturday I will.
...and then I need software that works. :P

Happens every time I try to open a clip window. Reinstalling FFDShow (which is where that DLL is) doesn't help.
Though I guess it's better timing than most... I may be finally upgrading from Win98SE to WinXP, so everything will have to be reinstalled anyway. It's still annoying, though. Ah well. -
