  • The Most Exciting Thing, Ever, In the Entire Universe 2008-08-26 21:42:20 It's kind of funny that that was my last entry, "I just laid down some clips for Multi Vid," and it was eight months ago. Well then.

For the record, now it's done.

    Whee.

It's a bit frustrating that I haven't finished anything since "Chick Lit" a year and a half ago. In the interim, I made this, half of a collaboration project (the other half of which isn't done, not that there's anything wrong with that), and 90% of a nearly unwatchable trainwreck which was loads of fun for me, and which remains at 90% because the last 10% is the trickiest bits of Photoshopping.

But someday, perhaps it'll be done. I hope.

I'd send this in to the next con I'm going to, except that they don't have any due dates on their website. Oops. I'm afraid to ask about it. There's probably some drama involved or something. I'm not gonna get into that. Sooo, um... that's it for this video. G'night, folks.
  • Lock the doors and close the blinds, we're going for a ride! 2008-01-02 17:59:17 Started putting down a couple of clips for Multi Vid a day or two ago, since Collaborative Vid 2 and Single Series Vid are both in the grindy image-editing phase. I already feel let down by my own lack of skillz, because there are a few clips that are more than one beat etc., and I keep telling myself that I want to *improve* at this. But I suppose I can shorten things up as I add more into the timeline. I just don't want to get lazy. Lazier.

    Sorry. Lazier. ;P
  • Shh. I'm not here. 2007-09-28 11:39:26 Home sick today, which means, paradoxically, that I get all kinds of stuff done. Go fig.

I'm skimming through the 17th series for my multi vid, which will probably be one of the larger contributors to the whole. But I can't help thinking that 17 series for a full-length video (4 minutes or so) isn't enough. I have one, mayyyybe two more in my collection that would work, and there's a series that will probably be out by the time I'm finished that would work, and I could borrow two or three more from friends - but that's still only about 20 series. 20 is "mildly multi-series." Most multis are up around 60, right? I don't know how people do it. I have much more awe for multi-source editors after working on this project. It's taken me ...oh, it's taken me the better part of a year to skim through 17 series. :P In the background of making 3 other videos, mind you, but still.

You are more efficient editors than I, folks. ;P

Now all I have to do is get some more stuff done, take a couple of naps, and resist ordering / pre-ordering stuff I want online out of boredom. *resists*
  • Stuff blowing up woo! 2007-08-27 22:31:41 So yeah, we got engaged in NYC about a week ago. This will become quite hilarious when our next collaboration comes out, as it is not at all the "my girlfriend is just like Haruhi / my boyfriend is just like Tamahome" sort and very much the "pow! pow! wockachickawockachicka! woo-woo!" sort. Many things that go boom.

I guess we're going about it all weird-like, but it's fun and it's working so far.

(I don't even KNOW who the hetero heartthrob boys are now. Gah.)

Still working on my crappy but fun solo bit. Cut the hell out of the song; that definitely helps.
  • Take me home, you know the rest 2007-08-13 18:41:56 Editing my section of Collaborative #2 was done in a weekend. Well, the pre-work, anyway. The post-work will have to wait until the other sections are done.

This is what happens when you have too much time to ponder your idea beforehand plus not very much source to work with...

Able Sisters' next appearance is going to be Tsubasacon, which is on the opposite end of West Virginia from us, where Ohio, WV and Kentucky meet, in early October. It's tiny and should be pretty chill. I hope it goes well, because the other half of Ables has a grand idea for next year that kindasorta conflicts with it. I'm not a fan of the grand idea, though. If we stick to Tsubasa instead, I would be a happy, happy camper.

However, the con has no AMV contest - for lack of entries, somehow - so I won't talk about it here. Just send happy thoughts for us. The more I sew, the fewer AMVs I make, people! That's good news! ;D
