Finally saw FFVII:AC. Just thinking about the action sequences makes my head hurt. It started out cool, and then they had the same one every four minutes. Also rather meh was the random cutting back and forth between the story and random Aeris featherspace. Mind you, I like Aeris, but the game did at least have a rhyme and reason to Cloud's freakouts. This seemed completely random. Meh.
*However*, the in-between things were fun and it's chock full o' shiny. Even though they emo-ed the hell out of Cloud (Cloud was *not* as emo as Squall!), it still has a sense of humor, which I am very happy to see.
After hearing how Cait was translated, I also listened to the audio ripped from the dub while working on other things, out of curiosity. (Besides, I believe SquareEnix can afford good actors, dammit!). While it's 90% "Haah! Rahh! *crash* *crash*", the rest was all right. ID'd Rude within about four words. Hahahaha. You know you watch too much anime when.
Cait is also funnier in the dub. I'm sorry. It is playing off a stereotype, but the sub is near-gibberish (on purpose), and few things are funnier than telling Yuffie to shut up. I liked Yuffie well enough too, mind you, but someone does need to tell her to can it.

Ahhh, this is so fun! I have to finish it. I think it can be done. Well, I think the editing can be done within a week. I expect another week to get the encoding done properly, because I usually have problems with that.
It's at the point where if I can't do something the way I imagined, I just simplify it rather than beating my head against it. I've done enough beating with other sections.
It's not perfect, but it's fun and I think it holds together okay. ^____________^ Fun.
Then I'll start talking less, I promise. Quite a bonus. Haha. -

...two weeks from today, I'll be 29 years old. Twenty-fuckin'-nine. Oh my God.
Which means that I need to go easy on the pedos around here - my Hakkai-is-so-kewt squeeing while working on this video is just about as bad as those freaks now, since he's 22. Kill me pls.
The difference between them and me - so I tell myself - is that I'd rather carve my left eye out with a spoon than molest a real 22-year-old. And even in an abstract, fannish context, I don't like them *because* they're kids like loliconners tend to. I keep *forgetting* they're kids! Gah. They really are not characterized like kids except in the dub, which is a bit disturbing, albeit more realistic, because of it.
At least manga!Nii is hot, and he's at LEAST thirty. (Please? He was at least 19 when Kouryuu was three, IIRC from Reload, so... Sanzo is now 23, ...yes. Whew. Molesting psycho asshole, but legal!)
So... yeah, in the interest of not being a hypocrite, I will not cast aspersions on the loli creeps. I don't support them, but ultimately I'm not much different from them. How depressing.
More to the point, I would like to finish this video in the next couple of weeks. Let's hope. I'm developing a sleep debt over it, though - not intentionally, just from getting wrapped up in it - and that's not good. Sleep is more gooder-er than arbitrarily finishing a video on time. Yes. But I'll still try.
