So yeah, I work in a mailroom for a government building, started about a month ago, and right when I started we had supposedly gotten a large parcel, and I didn't sign for it personally, but signed the control sheet confirming that we had gotten it. I don't remember anything at all about this package, and depending on when we actually got it, I might have been swamped down with learning all the ins and outs. Anyway, it was supposed to go to the 19th floor, and if it was properly labelled, I should have delivered it there. Long story short, it went missing. Again, I really don't remember this at all, which is odd, because the parcel was a stereo, which I would assume is fairly large and heavy, thus I would probably remember if I had to make any extra effort. There's been a ton of roundabout shit before this, it's just today that we've found out that I was more or less the last person to have been in contact with it. Do they think I stole it, I don't know, but I assume it's crossed their minds, but it would be pretty damn obvious if I was walking out of the building with a stereo. Did anybody steal it? I guess so, unless we never got it. Which is something that really fucks me over, because that means I signed the control sheet, without actually getting all the items. Again this was in my first week, so it would normally have been a minor mistake, but it had to be the fucking stereo. The thing that pisses me off the most is that I _don't remember_ a single thing about it, if I could at least remember that I had delivered it to the 19th floor, I could say with confidence that it left my hands and was no longer my responsibility.
Okay, update, things have cooled down a little, we have records of the package getting here, and I have a copy of the delivery notice, so I sent it and it's clear, we just never got back the original copy of the form, proving that the intended person got it. So basically, we're going to tour the 13th floor (19th was wrong, apparently) and find out where the hell this this is.
