What a dismal performace by the REDS. It wasn't so much about the result that bothered me. We simple lacked the character to get back into the game.
Yes, we created loads of chances
Yes, cudicini made at least a dozen saves including a penalty
    yes Owen didn play
yes, Chelsea were excellent esp Cudicini and Gudjohnsen (i still couldn't believe the way he set up the second goal...world class !!)
However, apart from Hechoz, hyypia, Riise and Gerrard, none of our players seemed bothered that we were losing. None of them were willing to put their feet on the ball and take up the responsibility. Carragher was responsible for all 3 chelsea goals but he was hardly the worst player out there.
I couldn't believe why PT took out Biscan and left Murphy out there..Biscan had a much much better half than "The EPL player of the month" and still PT stuck to his loyal servant. Murphy played another blinder for the opposition again...not doing anything useful and giving any the ball like Santa giving sweets for Christmas.

Gotta give credit to Chelsea..they played the pool way brilliantly..defending deep and counter-attacking with style..

This is def not the best way to start Monday after finding that the downloads for "THE OTHERS" have hanged and unable to resume. Gotta catch some sleep again.

  • Sleep Now 2001-12-16 09:09:45

Saturday and Sunday have been rare days when i can sleep all day and wake up whenever I want. Finally, all my courses are over. However, there is still the dreaded IPPT to worry about.

Finished watching 'THE ONE' , 'HARRY POTTER' and half of 'KAKASHI' and downloading Nicole Kidman's 'THE ONE' as i type this.

THE ONE: Farnee stuff...i was laughing as i watch and my mum thinks i'm nuts.
    Interesting things to note:

    1) Why the good Jet insists on wearing the same clothes as the bad Jet even though he was repeatedly mistaken as the bad one. The bad one takes off his sweater in the final fight so we can finally tell them apart.
The good one insists on looking identitcal and takes off his own sweater at the end of the fight so they can look alike again....duh...
    2) Why the use of various weird rock music in the bg everytime there is a fight scene...although i find the use of "Blood Brothers" and "Last Resort" rather fitting though a little hilarious.
    3) Jet Li can speak english...competently...not bad for onli his second english speaking role...can't say the same for Chow Yuen Fatt :)
    As the bad one retorts:
"I do not have to know you. YOU onli have to know ME." Kewl ending

    Harry Potter:

Not bad..not bad at all..but i find the ending a bit of an anti-climax and it took me a while to realise Harry Potter hasn't conjured any magic throughout the show...oppss ..did i spoil anything? Well, thats too bad!!..haha.
Show took a tit long to build up but turned out to be nice overall. Would make a perfect drama but less than perfect movie.

Sleep sleep sleep...slept thru the whole of Saturday and most of Sunday. Supposed to join Zhiwei and gang for soccer but found my shoes unwearable....time to get a new one and Alan told me how to get free ones from SAF...hooray..new free shoes !!!!

Kakashi is well..plain old Japanese horror movie genre. Full of suspence...very little plot;...and wow..scarecrows were supposed to be scary and esp when you find life -like ones standing in the attic while you shiver in fright, forgetting why you went there in the first place...

Morpheus is cool btw...just found losta clips which i though no longer exsists..very old cartoons and mtvs..kewl !!

Nothing much to speak of...gotta go watch Liverpool Vs Chelsea in the Kopitiam later...

  • Liverpool named 'World Team of the Year' 2001-12-14 11:16:54

Liverpool have been named 'World Team of the Year' by 'World Soccer' magazine following their high profile annual polls.

For the first time in 20 years one club picked-up all the awards on offer.

Michael Owen was named 'World Player of the Year' while Gerard Houllier was named as 'World Manager of the Year'.

World Soccer Editor Gavin Hamilton spoke about Liverpool's success in the polls.

"It's an amazing achievement for Liverpool to win all three awards. But then it's not often a team wins five trophies in as many months," said Hamilton.

  • Gimme back my watch! 2001-12-14 06:08:12

I knew it was too good to be true. Attending a seminar for 1 hour and getting a free SWISS watch in return . It sounded too good to be true.
Alright it is true but after 2 days of arranging an appointment , the person who alised with me asked the magic question:" Do you have at least 1.5 k salary per month ?" Oh man 1.5k !! Anyone can earn 1.5k but i just started work and still schooling. Her reply was cold : "so that means no salary lah ?"

    What a waste..it was a FRIGGING SWISS WATCH FOR GOD'S SAKE !!!!!
  • Training Day 2001-12-14 05:46:09
The last 2 days of AIMS2 were very interesting to say the least. There are so many 'happening" stuff that i can't remember them all

The role playing was very entertaining indeed ....dialouges like these (below),certaintly prove that insurance agents are everything but boring.

    Role play 1:
Agent (showing client a sample) : ....and if need be , a comprehensive report will be prepared for you.....that is if the company thinks you deserve it. Those reports dun come cheap
    Trainer: (what the hell)

    Role play 2 (telephony)

    Trainer: Ring ring
    (no response)
    Trainer: ring ring ring
    (no response)
Trainer: hey pick up that phone
    Agent: ring some more leh

There are more but i can't think of them now

We even have this stressful game called "bull in the ring" when one person will act as the agent and objections were beng constantly thrown at him.
One of the objection is got was " Sorry i had just purchased a unit trust. I dun feel like commiting right now" I had misinterpreted the objection and went around the bush ,,without confirming the real reason behind the objection

Alas..at least i have learnt something useful.. never assume you know what the "prospect" is saying or thinking.,.always probe and find out more by asking more questions.

Have lunch with my new collegues: Winston, Alicia , Peihong , Chester, Shanti, Micheal and of course Wilson and Weiliang.

This is when i found out their diff backgrounds before they joined this career. There are 2 engineers, 1 banker, 1 advertising (person ?) and even a Chalet manager.

Peihong found a 5 cm worm in her soup. This caused a moment of panic as some of us bought food from that stall too.hmmm.worms dun come cheap either ..i mean for the stall holder ...we got the stall holder to refund her but if she had found half a worm instead...i dun think we would have let him off so easily.

The MCQ test was pretty easy but i nearly failed... (you need 11/15 to pass and i got 11 ..phew!!! )

Just before the oral test (last evernt of AIMS2), the lot of us were gathering and talking as if we weren't going to see each other anymore.
Shaking hands, exchanging namecards/phone/ICQ #s and all...its nice to see such camaderie amongst professionals (ok we can call ourselves that now) whom I once had the impression of following the principle "every man for himself".

The oral test was a breeze. My tester Serena is as gentle and pretty as anyone can get. When she started talking..i was thinking "what an angel." Went back to office to finish typing my quotations and printing them before rushing home to type all this rubbish.
