YAYAYAYAYAY!!! The premiere for the dub of Cowboy Bebop (movie) is gonna be at BAAF (Big Apple Anime Fest)! YES YES YES. Not to mention they are gonna show Escaflowne the movie. I was so disappointed that I missed it when they showed it at Loews.. So I reserved a copy of the special edition of the movie (it should be here next week sometime). But I get to see it on the big screen anyway.. YAY And I just read that Lowes is gonna show some other anime in the next month. But I forgot which one... DAMNIT..
OK I just finished jumping joyfully around the house I nearly broke my neck . Anyway.... since AXNY starts on Aug 31 and I have school on that day (I think), I might have to skip class so I can check into the hotel in time. This will be my first con and already it looks pretty good. The BAAF starts on the 30th of Aug, the con starts on the 31st ::runs around the room like a chicken without a head::
Hmm I still haven't told my mom yet that I reserved a hotel room for the con. When I do tell her though, I expect her to give birth to several cows.

Reading Rainbow (remember that corny show)?

Well the entry before this wasn't even supposed to be there. I just started typing some crap down and I decided to not continue so I pressed the back button. Oh knows, maybe I actually pressed enter. It was last night so I don't remember. In any case, I saw the movie "Snow Falling On Cedars" this afternoon (it's not anime if you are wondering). I read the book in my senior year of high school and I loved the book. The movie was done very well. They hardly left anything important out. The book has a certain feel to it- alot of imagery and flashbacks among other things. The movie was able to give the audience the same feeling the book did. Very nice. The story is about an American boy (Ishmael) who falls in love with a Japanese American girl (Hatsue) before she is sent away to an internment camp during WWII (when the US sent Japanese Americans to "relocate"). Then years later they meet again because the Hatsue's husband is being tried for murder. But the book (and the movie) isn't just about Ishmael. It's about Hatsue and her life while she was in the internment camp and the conflict that exists between her heritage and her heart. It's not mushy or fluffy anything, so if you want something to read between your anime sessions this would be good.
Another good book that I read (this I read 2 weeks ago) is "Flowers for Algernon" written by Daniel Keyes. I think everyone in the world should read this book. It's a good book about humanity. Anyway it's about a mentally retarded man (Charlie)who is used for an experiment. Charlie's brain is operated on and then his intelligence begins to grow. In a few weeks after the operation he becomes smarter than the scientists that operated on him. Now the story is told basically through Charlie's eyes which makes for very honest narration (if you get what I mean). It's a very short novel so you should check it out. Makes you think about how "smart" mentally retarded people are and how dumb "normal" people can sometimes be. Another good book (and it's short too)

It's funny how some people who are older act a hell of a lot more immature than some younger people. I don't know where I fall. Maybe somewhere in the middle.

Update2
2002-07-10 11:16:35
Well I wasn't feeling very well last night so i wans't gonna work on my video. But after dinner, a shower and a Pepsi, I started feeling better. I got alot done. I am not the type of person that likes to ask for help. For example, I never really asked anyone outright for help making a video when I had no idea where to start. I just read guides, did some of my own research, and when I got Premiere I read the manual. It's probably only been about 4 months since I started making videos, first with Final Fantasy and now with real anime. But anyway, the point of this is to say that I am glad I learned the hard way. I don't have the full edition of Photoshop, just the limited edition I got with Premiere 6.0. During the last couple of days I have been messing around with Photoshop and learning some stuff about layers and the different tools. And last night and I did the effect that will go into the intro of my video. I am not done with the intro yet cuz there are a few more effects I want to do. That alone might take me another two days. Since I am not working or going to school right now (I feel like such a bum) I can work on this nonstop. I am trying hard to make this video as solid as possible. I don't know why. I guess I really like Escaflowne (I am such a girl sometimes). Plus its fun. Even though its making it hard for me to sleep at night. All these ideas run through my head nonstop when I am trying to sleep. Nope, no visions of sugarplums dancing in this girl's head. Just visions of Escaflowne dancing in my head. Let's see I went to bed last night at 1:30 and I was still awake at 3. I can't entirely blame it on my video though. I've been thinking alot about my life, my lack of friends, school (I might be the only person thinking about school in the summer), and AXNY. Well that's all folks! Time to get to work.
