JOURNAL: TheCreedBeast (Andy Roque)

  • Opinion Rant 2005-04-10 10:07:04 I've given other people 48 opinions now. You'd think that someone would have the decency to check out at least one of my videos. Do they? Nope. I have four opinions total ever and two of them came from people I'm regularly in contact with and the other two (thankfully) did come from other people who I had already reviewed their stuff. It bothers me how everyone whines about getting more opinions but I'm not seeing people leaving them. Have you ever searched for something and found a whole list that have one or two opinions total, if any? And the video is over a year old? Exactly! It seems a bit hypocritical to me. I know that it's only an opinion and not truly a big deal, but does anyone else see eye to eye with me in that we see banners and such constantly and yet it's all empty somehow. Whatever. If these people all practiced what they preached I think this site could be a lot better. Don't get me wrong, it's already an amazing place and I adore it, so maybe I'm just a perfectionist there. Essentially, people, don't fuss about opinions if you yourself have given so few.
  • Banner Insanity 2005-03-30 21:42:33 Has anyone else been particularly interested in the banner scene since the new logo came out? The queue line has gotten crazily long. I've been voting on as many as I get a chance to and I've submitted more than fiften of my own, over ten of which have yet to be voted on. Some are quite good; I particularly like "I'm trippin' so hard" with Ed on it. Wow I've put way too much time into that recently. This site really can steal focus from school work; I've kind of switched academic systems. Now I'm on the scrape-by plan hehe. Finally campus is getting warm again, after seven months of brutal cold. Spring is a good thing. Wow...that rhymed. >_<
  • Milestones for Semicomatose Studios 2005-03-21 22:08:39 It's been a few weeks since I did any actual video editing work now, my longest stretch all year. I've been focusing on banners and trying to use my minimal Photoshop knowledge to push one through the voting process and into the "Worthy" column. At this point, I'm happy with the way this year has worked out for me as far as video work goes. I've got five videos completed and I just bought Adobe video editing software to lift me up out of the Windows Movie Maker masses. Surprisingly, "All So Clear" (my fourth video, featuring Josh Groban singing "My December") hasn't stacked up well star-wise compared to my other videos. That one took a good deal of effort to put together but maybe I missed my target with it nonetheless. I'm also a bit surprised that my Spiral video featuring music from RENT has as many hits as it does. I adore RENT and have one or two more videos laid out using music from it. On top of all this editing and banner work is my web site, which is up but bare. I have a makeover all set for it, as soon as my friend can upload everything and get it set. Beyond that, even, is anime watching. I've allowed myself to succumb to way too many shows at once and am now at points in Texhnolyze, Spiral, Fullmetal Alchemist, RahXephon, .hack//SIGN, and Full Metal Panic! So, yeah, I'll try to have more videos, hopefully much-improved thanks to the help of Adobe, and a commendable web site together as soon as time allows. Isn't Spring Break supposed to have some essence of vacation? Between work, group ski trips, and personal goals such as this video stuff, I'm just not seeing it. Oh well - the anime is worth it.

  • "The World of Lukuss" Completed! 2005-01-25 10:57:26 My first full-length non-test amv is complete! I have done a bunch of small test things to learn programs and test functions but only over the last two days have I finished off my first full amv, called "The World of Lukuss." It is to the anime Texhnolyze and uses Collective Soul's song "The World I Know." I will have it on this site tomorrow but cannot upload it yet because my campus blocks FTP uploads *growls*. But I am happy with how it turned out and hope people will check it out and LEAVE OPINIONS. hehehe...I feel successful.
  • My Addiction to Good AMVs 2004-10-30 15:27:33 I love a good AMV, but so many are, well, not so great. I downloaded, watched, and deleted eight straight Trigun AMVs today alone. But through trial and error I have found a handful of really good ones, as listed on my favorite videos list. I recently finished Geneshaft and really liked it. It'd be nice if more people made Geneshaft AMVs though; it'd score big with me as long as it was done decently. I recently got the entire set of Neon Genesis Evangelion in the mail, so that is my next series to tackle and obviously I am extremely excited for it. I've seen some great footage from that show in AMVs and finally I will be able to experience it all! Above all, though, Gundam Wing still reigns my favorite.
