JOURNAL: Gimpy (Brian Scholer)

  • E = MC Hammer 2002-03-26 13:12:46 I am oh so bored. Someone say hi to me...
  • I need a job.. 2002-03-24 17:39:30 I've been unemployed since about the middle of January. I'd have to say it's been GREAT. I've finally had the time and freedom to work on things I never had the time to do, programming, my wb site, photography, and of course Music Videos. Plus I get to mess with telemarketers all day. But the cold hard fact of the matter is, I need cash. If anyone is looking to hire someone (preferrably for a job that can be done from home), let me know. Also, I have certifications.

I actually used to have over 20 of those, but they expired, and I havn't retaken all of the tests yet. Although BrainBench has no specific certification for it, I am very good at photo retouching. You can see some photos I've taken at my website. All of those needed at least some retouching from being scanned. ::sighs:: Why am I looking for a job here....
  • The problems with server side web coding... 2002-03-24 12:44:47 I just had this conversation with my friend a minute ago...I'm Smiley9273:

AntiOrganic: Ah crap, I need to set up my mail server before this contact form will work the way I want it to.,

AntiOrganic: Time to fire up the handy dandy Terminal Services Client!

AntiOrganic: Maybe PHP can do this directly, because it can do everythig else aside from putting the peanut butter on the bread, which, interestingly enough, it can do, but it always puts too much peanut butter or not enough peanut butter on my fucking bread. I just want a god damn sandwich.

Smiley9273: yea, see that's what I don't like PHP. That's why I refuse to go to deli's that use PHP, like the Lake Grove one. I always take the extra effort to go to five corners instead.

AntiOrganic: The first "P" in "PHP" stands for "PHP"

AntiOrganic: PHP means PHP Hypertext Preprocessor

    AntiOrganic: Recursive acronyms are fun.

Smiley9273: Plus PHP is a dick when it coems to things like extra cheese. PHP always charges me extar for it.

AntiOrganic: PHP really doesn't do a great job with the French toast either

AntiOrganic: It's better than the all-too-similar ASP French toast, but it still leaves something to be desired in a direct comparison between it and JSP French toast.

Smiley9273: oh forget about it, I am religious with my french toast. I only let trusted ColdFusion templates go anywhere near my french toast.

AntiOrganic: Heh, I was thinking of coding my site in every available language simultaneously

AntiOrganic: I wanted to have parts in ASP, parts in JSP, parts in PHP and parts in ColdFusion

Smiley9273: I've tried JSP's french toast, but it leaves me fealing empty, with an emotional void that only ColdFusion can fill.

    AntiOrganic: Hehe
  • <-Mad 2002-03-24 11:37:52 Okay, now I know that you can't use HTML in this...but that's not why I'm mad. I'm mad because I used 'their' when I should've used 'there' and that's a mistake I hate looking at and barely ever make. So there. :) ::sigh:: I really should refrain from typing/writing when I'm dazed...
  • They're only shoes! 2002-03-24 11:28:55 Well...here's my first journal entry. At first I thought, "eh I'm not gonna use that thing" mainly because I don't like journals or diaries. But then I found myself reading other people's thanks to the 'latest entry' list on the main page, and I figured it might actually be pretty fun. I'd like to get an idea of how many people actually look at these, so if you wanna do me a favor that I'd be SO grateful for, please let me know if you're reading this and how often you actually check out people's entries. You can contact me through my profile (I think my e-mail address is in their) or by going to <a href="http://gimpy.org/contact.asp">http://gimpy.org/contact.asp</a>. I have no pop-ups on my site...just wanna make it clear how much I despise them...and uh, I think that'll do it for now.
