JOURNAL: Senta (Senta Miller)

  • Me Bored 2002-06-16 17:34:01 I'm kinda bored right now, so I thought I'd attend to my completely neglected amv journal. Yah!

Today, I finally watched the Ah! My Goddess movie and it's about time. I've seen so many AMG movie amvs at cons and the Otakon pre-screenings that I was afraid the movie would be spoiled for me, but that wasn't the case. The story was very sweet and the animation was top notch.

I also watched all four eps of Hades Project: Zeorymer which I had seen about six years ago. I found the two dvds at Anime Central for ten dollars a piece and had to check it out again. I remember liking it when I saw it years ago and was curious to see if I would still like it. Back then, I liked most of the anime I watched, since I hadn't seen too much and there wasn't much around. Nowadays, my taste in anime is much more sophisticated (ie. picky) and often times I realize an anime I used to like is pure crap. Luckily, Zeorymer wasn't a waste of time. Its got cool mecha designs with a slight old school feel. Unfortunately, the dvd has hardcoded subs so I don't even want to think about using it to make a video.

Yesterday, I went to one of Otakon's pre-screenings for the amv contest. Matt Pyson was there, but Duane Johnson was partying it up at Anime Mid-Atlantic Con with Studio Ironcat. Matt showed two of the four pre-screening tapes. The first tape was rather disappointing, but the second tape was much better.

Friday, I sent off my some videos for Anime Expo. At this point, I'm not sure if I'm going to AX. I have one friend who's going, but I don't know if that alone will make it worth flying acrossing the country. I've heard a lot of complaints about AX being too corporate and catering too much to guests and not paying attention to the fans. On the other had, I like big cons and many people still seem to enjoy it. Plus, I'd really like to meet some amv creators on the west coast.
