JOURNAL: OzzieAlThor79 (Ozzie Al Thor)

  • 2007-03-02 11:17:38 To be abundantly clear, I had AP back in 2004 and early 2005. My computer then died and I have not had it since.

I just wanted my journal notes to make sense!

    lol
  • From the ashes 2007-03-02 10:07:59 So... my computer died. No Adobe or anything left.

Frankly, Adobe was way above my head and too complicated for me to get to work right at the time.

So I was making a new AMV for the Anime Detour contest. It follows what I have done in the past by using a song, or artist not widely used on the org with series that.. well... ARE wdely used on the org.

First I had a Disney song. Next I did one to the theme to Buffy The Vampire Slayer (<-- Besides not being super pretty, I don't see why more people don't like that one [/whining])

Now I am going with Meatloaf. That's right. Meatloaf. And not a song of his that's been on here before either. It will fit (I hope) perfectly with my concept for the video.

Thing is, I got about 2:20 into the video (which is 5:30 long) and all of a sudden my WMM now won't save the video. Then I went back and tried to save earlier footage and I couldn't do that either. Funny thing is, every 20 seconds or so I export my videos so I can be sure the timing is looking right as I am going along (and also so that my wife, Ezmerelda (Ez of the "Oz n Ez" productions), can properly quality check my edit's and point out any glaring flaws that I have in my video).

So I have a version of my video done till about 1:50.

There was recently a contest on the boards where the winner of said contest woul win a copy of Magix. Hating my WMM but loving my kids enough to buy them diapers, I simply don't have the spare cash to buy a new editing program. So I tried to get this video done in time. Luckily for me, the contest allowed incompleted videos. I ended up winning and as soon as I recive my new program, I will be rebuilding that video from the ground up on that program. I like the editing and everything I had (which could still be shored up in a few places I have no doubt), so I will be trying to get it close to my original.

So that leavs me with no AMV for Anime Detour this year. What I will be doing instead is submitting my "What Really Happened" video for the WTF contest. So at least I'm in ONE of the competitions. :P

The last thing, as an FYI, don't EVER post a "Free Ops" thread on the opinion exchange board. You'll be buried in requests for like.... ever. :P
  • I am the reason you don't... 2005-04-02 13:37:40 talk about premiering a video until it's done on this site.

April 15th would be a DREAM at this point. I still have half of my vid's to encode and I am still trying to understand what part of the Adobe Premiere walk through I am not understaning since any footage that I have edited with AVISynth shows up in the preview box all jumpy and useless. I have the files set to "Assume FPS(24)" and everything ( I am using option 1 in the guide).

    I must be missing something.

I also have to learn more about Adobe Photoshop as well. The opening I want for my AMV will probably not be do-able using Premiere. *Sigh*

Oh well. I won't put this one out till it looks the way it should. When your video shows up in the top 200 worst videos on April Fools you learn really quick to put out better stuff.

I guess with my star rating around 2.6 and my average score over a 7, I just didn't realize how crappy everyone thought my video was.

I thought it was good anyway... :)
  • nt 2005-03-28 10:42:05 Well so much for that.

I really hate AVIsynth scripting. Not because it isn't effective or anything... it's because it makes me feel stupid..

I am STILL trying to get this thing to load in Premiere... I think I goofed up the script at some point though. I know what I did so I'll just repeat it and hopefully that will work.

I must have the most opinions for a video less than 400 people have even looked at! Considering less than 100 people have actually seen the video, yet I have 16 opinions. That's proof you have to really get your videos out in the public eye and that it can be done.

I have just about got the storyboard worked out for my new video... now I just need to get my footage looking the way I need it and I should be good to go!

I am hoping to have the video done by April 15th.
  • Alrighty! 2005-03-24 20:36:40 Tonight I foray into interlacing full bore.

I have read all the guides and bookmarked them all as well.

The plan is by the end of 3-25-05 I will have all my footage that I am looking for Scripted and imported looking pretty and clean into Adobe Premiere Pro.

Now if I could just get that text to animate right....
