No seriously, I'm not just using that to make fun of Lee :P.
This "thread" on the journals about Wonka's post is getting a bit ridiculous. Next we're gonna have people saying they're going to quit AMVs (like that Euphoria non-sense).
My advice: Just make music videos. If you think there's so much crap. Ignore it and go look for something good. It's out there. Even better, MAKE something good. Go out and have fun. That's ultimately the answer. If you don't have fun watching "bad" videos...don't. If you like making videos...do that.
Wow! What a concept!
It's one thing to complain and another to do something about it. Then again, with people making bad videos, there's nothing you can do about it. They have every right to do it and we don't have any authority to keep them out of this *HOBBY*.
It's non-sense to hold AMVs up on this pedastool as an artform only the L337 can particpate in. In fact, all artforms have a large % of crap and no offense, but AMVs aren't even considered that artistic.
As for the donut, who are we to say who can and can't use it? We *all* paid for the donut and Phade specifically envisioned it so that *all* of us (good or "bad") could have a way to host our videos. I'm sure plenty of "bad" creators have contributed and for that, they have the right to upload as well. In fact, Phade lets all of us uplaod since he wants to catalogue as many videos as possible.
Now to defend the other side, I won't lie and say things are perfect. There are plenty of videos that I consider "bad." However, it's my choice not to look at them.
At the same time, why don't people leave an opinion and try and help these creators out? Why hasn't anyone thought about doing that?
