AnimeFest or Bust
2002-08-30 11:13:08
Yup yup, it's Friday and that means AnimeFest this 4-day weekend! With the panel, AMV contest and finally meeting MJ, it should be awesome. I count 5 from the Austin Crew comin' up (Machine, Wonka, Julian, Abaddon and myself) so the 6 of us should have a blast. Whee!!! Just gotta finish this thing called "work" and then take off after lunch. Speaking of which, back to work...

Whee!
2002-08-28 10:53:00
Met Carlos (Machine), Willem (Wonka) and Julian (Beowulf) last night. Brad (Atom-X) and Jason (XAbaddon) showed up too. Had dinner and talked for awhile and then hit up Einstein's Arcade. Too bad I was still in my work close or I would've DDRed :-P. A man in business close DDRing...what are we? In Japan?
The funniest thing was Brad sitting right next to Carlos and waiting for the rest of us and the two of them just...sitting there waiting and not saying a word. I came in and saw Brad and said something and then Carlos finally said something.
Oh and we have a fairly interesting idea for a mini-Doc for Animefest. I'm guessing afterwords half of the AMV community will hate us...<sigh> oh well!
All in all, I would have to say the Austin AMV crew is uber cool and sucks for you MJ. We'll see you in two days though. Woo hoo for Animefest! Oops, back to work!

Yes, it's that time again for another Austin AMV get-together
2002-08-27 12:23:10
Yup, yup...with Carlos (Machine) moving into Austin for college, we've decided to have another get-together (mainly so he can meet us). As of now, it looks like it's me, Carlos, Brad (Atom-X) and Jason (Abaddon). I hope EK and the Milo bros can make it, but if not <shrug>.
If MJ is reading this, I bet you're angry right now heh. Don't worry, we'll see you in a few days at AnimeFest. Don't *you* wish you were in Austin? Actually...that goes to everyone else, since the Austin crew r0x0rs! :-P (pffft)

Woo hoo!

I'm a minute and 30 seconds into my new vid and I'm surprised that I actually like the majority of what I see. I hope I can get a mediocre video up in a few weeks and then have Machine and EK tear it apart, but in doing so making it a GOOD video ^_^. In any case, I got a lot to do before it's mediocre so...heh.

Go Go Go!
2002-08-22 12:06:41
I'm about 45 seconds into my next vid and surprisingly, it's going fast and more importantly, well. I guess my first two videos taught me a thing or two.
I have also learned the importance of "scripting" the video. That's the only reason it's going so quickly and well. When I say scripting I mean sort of like a movie script. About 90% of the video has already been thought up and written down on paper. It's nice not having to dig through footage and already knowing what goes where. It also makes the footage more meaningful since these scenes have been in my head for a few months and that gives me a better idea than just searching for footage right before making the scene. I strongly suggest all "n00bs" to do this prior to making the video...it'll help...A LOT.
I guess this is very obvious, but...well....screw you! ^_^
I hope to get at least 1:00 into it by tonight and it's good that Machine is moving in this weekend. I hope in about a week or two he and EK can take a look at a "raw" video.
