Now I am home...
2005-05-22 06:55:28
Well, it's been an interesting couple of days.
The small Anime Music Video competition in Hobart, Tasmania (Australia), has come and gone... I did my little judging role, as best as I could (I think, though most of the judging ideas I used were done on the spot). The panel information session and little tutorial ran with not as many people as I might have wanted, but at least for the few that were there, I'm hoping that it was informative enough...
Now, I guess my next goal in terms of AMVs is to upload the AMV that I premiered there as well as finally get a crack on amvience studios.
*deep exhale*
I am quite tired actually... Hobart is a quaint little town and yet in the last couple of days I've had enough on my plate that I just feel like recuperating for the next week or so.
Anyway, maybe I'll do just that... sleep.

Almost ready for a premiere
2005-05-18 10:29:44
It's been months since Look To The Stars has begun production but finally it is complete.
All that needs now is a premiere.
I've always held a romantic view of how things are done around here. So when it says premiere, I usually take it as this video is going to be shown for the first time to an actual audience much like in a theatre type environment.
Talk To Me premiered on a Manifest Gathering Weekend sometime last year. It wasn't a major event but definitely it was enough of an audience to show to them a brand new piece.
Reason in effect never premiered because it was never designed that way. It's almost like one of those 'straight to DVD' releases of some movies (like most Tom Arnold films except Reason is no Tom Arnold, not by a long shot :P).
Stand Your Ground had its premire at Sakura Con. What better place to premiere than an animve convention I would say.
And now comes Look To The Stars and this premiere is somewhat special and is yet to come which is why the video is not yet available to the public. It'll premiere in Hobart, Tasmania for a very special weekend devoted to Anime Music Videos. It is a weekend of competition among the members of the biggest anime society down there as well as an AMV workshop of sorts.
So now we stand at the brink and I hear you take deep breaths in anticipation for this latest creation. Watch out for it in the next few days.

Hurray perhaps

Right...
It does seem like I won the anime.au AMV competition.
But there's been no word from my friend if she had picked up the prize...
Should I worry?
Wait wait...
This just in...
From a text message from my friend: "Sorry, we made a mistake, you win! Dont worry you still get the prize"
Hmm... that hopefuly is a good thing... more later!

Hang on... what the?

News Flash!
For some odd reason what my friend is telling me about the convention results do not match what the people are saying in the convention's forums...
What they are saying in the forums was that first prize apparently went to a Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust video done with music that sounded 'Evanescence-ish'... it just so happened that that was what I entered...
I guess it's possible that there is a mistake or that I didn't get anything in the end since I wasn't there and my friend got confuzzled or some other tragedy... but I am still hopeful!
More news later as this event unfolds.
