JOURNAL: Infinity Squared (Mark )

  • Nothing to report on Project Dawn 2005-06-27 07:47:33 Yeah... not much happened... but I just wanted to write something... had to postpone some of the plans cos I had some work to do all of a sudden outside of AMVs (*shudder*)

Anyway... here you, have two phrases that are just absolutely stuck with me these days:

"If I didn't have bad luck I'd have no luck at all" - I have no idea from where I got this from other than it's from a movie.

"The heart has reasons which reason does not know" - something my friend gave me but I'm fairly certain she got that off of somewhere herself... she is gorgoeous both in spirit and in looks... It hurts so much that she isn't mine.
  • Project Dawn - Day 2 2005-06-21 11:40:56 Ok... all of the FLCL stuff have now been viewed and planned... all the necessary scenes have been catalogued. Total hours spent on that aspect was about 3 hours I guess.

And so the topic of the day is Inuyasha. Spent a good portion of an hour searching and focusing on specific aspects of the footage to find what I was looking for and in I found it to be there.

Other things need to be covered now... hmm... what was next on my list again?

Anyway, I'm sending off my entries to AVCon (Adelaide AMV competition) tomorrow. Quite frankly, this has been the most unconfident I have ever been when entering my video to anything. I mean, sure my other videos beforehand were stuff I was proud of but ultimately, I was never cocky about winning. But this time, I really feel like I may not have any chance based on the quality of my entries.

    *sigh*

I feel like they were too rushed.

Which is why my next Anime convention target (Animania) is targeted for a much more planned attack... namely, Project Dawn is aimed at it. They will not see this coming.
  • Project Dawn 2005-06-16 11:42:09 Well... it's the beginning of a new day... literally and figuratively.

But also, now begins my most ambitious project.

    PROJECT DAWN

It took me a while to settle on what to call the project but there it is.
Essentially the plan is for a twin set of videos. Two AMVs, both with dance themes to them, but each with its own unique "angle" to them. And the initial urge for this project took root about a week ago.

    The songs have been picked.

The idea and general momentum and some of the fancier effects ideas have been thought out.

The purpose of these videos is not for any AMV convention/competition. It's not for any kind of AMV panel. Definitely these videos will not be targeted to just any screening... these AMVs are aimed to you all out there, the AMV community... there's no other purpose for these videos but to ensure wow factor to the max.

    And so, we begin...

    DAY 1:

Initial video scene search begins. The anime are being re-watched. Scene times are being captured with each viewing. Watched through over 2 hours of anime today. Will do more later.

It's been decided that "DAYS" (as in Day 1), will not be counted on an actual date basis but on the frequency of major events and breakthroughs that will be recorded on this journal.

    No editing as yet.
  • r-xx-rw 2005-06-13 10:29:38 BAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!

This is frustrating... why did I have to do this now...

I got myself involved in bloody research into putting together a video streaming channel... and guess what? I want to do it for AMVs!!!

But the problem is it's quite a burden for me to experiment on it at the moment because of, well, life. Bloody exams! I just finished studying for my exam on Wednesday regarding video compressions and digital video broadcasting (mpeg stuff is nice!)... but I'm still far too busy and tired to invest on this idea more thoroughly...

I actually had something almost working today...

Two problems occured though... one was that when I finished getting the initial php files set, I put them on my primary webserver... the problem occured in that my webserver I think does not allow execution of anything... just strict downloads...

So I sent them all to my next webserver... and by golly, something popped up when I went to check it online... but... all it said was... "owner denies you permission to access"....

    "Owner?"

    I'm the bloody owner!

Ok, so I went back to the ftp account to change the access parameters... but guess what? All the files are hidden!

And to make matters worse, the folder from which they are held in does not allow "write" command parameters for the access...

So in effect... I am so going to kill... umm... I have nothing....

I need to eat my spaghetti...

BUT YEAH! I'm thinking up how to get an AMV TV channel soon... PM me if you wanna help me, or if you want to find out more...
  • Boo! 2005-06-11 03:08:42 Ok, now that I have yoru attention... Here are my journal buddies, whether or not they really are does not matter... i'm just pimping them cos they are a good read:

    3x3eyesfan (Abby Jameson)
    LenWidleheyt (Len Widleheyt)
    OmniStrata (Joseph Aguila)

Now then... I know Len does read my stuff, but now I'm waiting to see if the other two in here do read my inane babbles XD

You want to be added to my list of buddies... just say something in your journal entry about reading mine and I'll make sure to read each one of the new entries in the next 12 hours or so.
